    Perfect Minis for campaigning and role-playingBought these for my husband and me to use in our D&D campaign with our kids and friends. The minis are exactly as appeared in the product description and are of decent quality. For the price, you might find something cheaper on Hero Clix, but I prefer the official D&D minis as they work with our map hexagons and squares. 5... learned to paint my miniatures yet so it is nice to find some already paintedI haven't learned to paint my miniatures yet so it is nice to find some already painted. I just wish they would include tieflings and dragonborn in a set. 4Perfect set of miniatures to start with for D&DThese miniatures are great for most table top roleplaying games. They are perfect if you pair them with the D&D 5e starter set. Gives a great representation for players to immerse themselves if you use maps or drawings. They can still get players to think about their characters if playing theater of mind. This set is great both for dungeon masters and players. 5Not great, but definitely functionalThe pieces are plastic instead of traditional metal. Which is fine for me as they will be used to just mark character positions on the grid map. And although I do have much higher quality metal miniatures, which I don't like to use for fear of damage, these pieces I don't mind getting ruined from being handled constantly or lost.So the pros:InexpensiveAlready coloredVaried in player classes & gendersThe cons:A bit flimsy (due to pieces being made of plastic)Not very detailed (The colors on the figures look like they are glopped on)Some of the player classes and genders depicted are really not the typical archtypes that usually represents a basic player group. 3Pretty good figuresPretty good figures. Detailed enough, iconic, durable, and easy enough to throw into a dice bag with other minis and not have to worry about them getting damaged in any way. 3 out of the 7 figures that I received in this pack had slightly malformed/bent bases which, while a relatively minor flaw, annoy me a decent deal. Still great figures that I would recommend for those who don't want to paint their own figures. I use these for PCs (and occasionally NPCs) in the DnD games that I run. 4Good for a beginnerThe figures get the job done, simply put. They are at a much lower price than other stand-alone miniatures, costing about $2.50 each at the price I bought them at. However, at this price point, the makers really shouldn't have tried to make such detailed figures. Every non-rigid piece was bent and contorted (curved arrows, ax handle and body looking like a sine wave), and there was discoloration on near every figure. A more simple design would have resulted in much nicer looking figures. That all said, they make a good set of PC markers for your tabletop campaign. Just expect to upgrade out of them pretty easily. 3Good enough for meThe paint job is fairly good and you get a good variety of minis. Since I don't paint my own, I'm not super picky.One issue I had is with the human fighter with the battle axe. The axe is supposed to be connected to his shoulder, but somehow mine came separated from it. There was a little piece of shoulder still connected to the axe shaft, which is how I knew. The piece wasn't broken off, so I was able to superglue it back on to the shoulder after some trial and error.If you're a beginner who's looking for a set of minis for your party, this is a good deal for a set with variety. 4but they work great, and are a very inexpensive way to get ...You get what you pay for, and these figurines are not highly decorated nor fantastically painted, but they work great, and are a very inexpensive way to get a good collection of characters. I can usually find something to use, and have had others ask to borrow a figure for a campaign. I like that there are several to chose from. I have had no issues with quality, though I do keep mine in separate compartments on a soft surface when not in use. 5Very poor paint job, as with all Icons of the Realms products I've seenI ve purchased several Icons of the Realms miniatures products and in each instance, the paint job has been bad, as if a young kid had painted them. Furthermore, the bases for some of the minis are bent so they don t sit flat, and some of the figures themselves are bent so they stand at weird angles.Back when Wizards of the Coast produced the minis, they were pretty well-made. Every once in a while you d get one where the paint job was a little off or the figure would be a little bent. Once WizKids took over production, the quality went way downhill. To make matters worse, they ve become more expensive. A booster pack of 4 minis costs $16. When Wizards of the Coast produced their minis line, there were 8 minis per booster at a similar (maybe even less expensive) price. I suggest people boycott Icons of the Realms products until they start to make minis of decent quality. 1good quality mini figsThese are good quality mini figs. I actually bought them to use as decorations on my son's dungeons and dragons themed birthday cake. After the party, he was able to keep the figs. There is a map that comes along with the package and a storyline book as well. 5
