Customer Reviews

Trivial Pursuit Card GameI have lots of the Trivial Pursuit boardgames, so I thought this would be a great addition and could be played in a lot less time. The idea of the game is good, but most of the questions involve Canada. Most Americans would not know the answers, so this game looses its challenge and its enjoyment. If they would revise it to have questions about America, it would be much better and lots of fun. 2Like the speed, but needs more questions, better layoutThis game is okay. I like how you can play trivial pursuit in under 30 minutes (was more like 15 for just two players). This game does need more questions, because I can see us only playing a handful of times before running out of cards. As someone else mentioned, you could probably just use cards from the original game as well. I didn't like how the cards didn't have a sleeve or anything to hide the questions. Are we just supposed to put them in a pile and not peek at the questions on top? We ended up drawing from the bottom, which was a little awkward. We didn't use the included bee card to steal, because it seemed silly with just the two of us. 3The only way to play trivial pursuitTrivial Pursuit is not my game. I spend too many rolls, turns, and wrong answers trying to get on the right square to earn a wedge only to give the wrong answer and have to try again. I NEVER pull the game off the shelf. This card game, however, is a different story. I still don't get the questions right but I can steal cards from my opponent who does get the questions right and I can use a wild to get credit for a particularly difficult subject by answering a subject that is easier for me. With the elimination of all the dice rolling the game proceeds much more quickly making the prospect of playing an entire game less daunting. You could use, with the card game, the question cards from your Trivial Pursuit games if you have special versions. I also like that it takes up so much less shelf space. 4Fun and portableLet me start by saying we didn't play this as it was designed. We take it in the car when we travel to see family. It is two adults usually driving for 8-15 hours straight through to the destination. We pull these cars out and the passenger will "quiz" the driver. This helps kill time, engage us in dialogue, and keeps the driver awake. We'll try actually playing the game sometime I am sure. I read the directions and it seems like it will be fun. 4Not enough questionsLove trivial pursuit and like this as a shorter alternative that is fun with just two players. The only problem is that there just aren't enough questions, so once you've played the game a couple of times, you run out of new questions. Also, you should be aware (as I was not) that this game is manufactured in Canada and there is a disproportionate number of questions about specifically Canadian topics -- Canadian pop culture, Canadian athletes, Canadian politics, etc. 3Trivial PursuitI'm not sure why but this game makes the smarter person lose more often. I got all my answers correct and the person who I was playing with proceeded to steal all of my game pie pieces and win. I know the name of the game is Steal but I think I would have preferred a game where the person to actually answer the questions correctly, actually won the game, like the real T.P. game. 3Used?Love this game but I didn't realize that it was going to be used, the product description had me under the impression that I would be receiving a new game. 3Fun Game!I purchased this game as a stocking stuffer for my husband. It's been a fun game to play with friends. While my husband is excellent with trivia, I tend to not know as many of the facts. Despite this, the game is still fun, and actually has some questions for everybody. I really enjoy having games that consist of a deck of cards, as it is easy to take on trips or to a friend's house. Also, there are enough questions that you can easily play the game many, many times and not be familiar with the questions. Fun game, good value! 5Fun game but not enough questions! This game is very very fun to play, I almost like it more than the board game. My only gripe with this game, and unfortunately it is a huge gripe, is that there are double and sometimes triple uses of the questions...WTF? Seriously? They could not come up with enough questions to have every question on every card be unique?! It's not like they have the entire Trivial Pursuit archives to choose from right (sarcasm)! I just don't understand this, it really ruins game play too because a double question is easy, you know the answer without having to think about it. Also, this is not my mistake, I didn't reshuffle, we noticed this the first time we played the game on the first pack, there were multiple double uses of questions, same question on two or three different cards!-All decks are the same too because for christmas my sister got this for me and my husband bought it for my mother, when we noticed this we checked both decks and sure enough, duplicate questions in both decks. This is very unfortunate because the game is a blast, just wish they wouldn't have skimmed so much on the content! 3Great family gameThis game is great, but with low replay factor.Very fun, up to date questions, and fun system of being able to steal other players' cards. Lots of fun. Only downside if that if you play a bunch, then you'll start to hear the same questions often. I do best on the geography and history questions, so am likely to pick that category when I get a wild card, and so after a bit you really are pressed for more questions.Otherwise great game. Lots of fun with a bunch of people. 4
