    Love it, runs a little smallI love this costume! My 4.5 year old daughter is in size 5 and if she was any bigger she would not fit into it, so I would say it runs small because I don't think it would fit a size 6 child. The tail is in front which looks like it might drag or possibly trip the child while walking, especially if they are on the shorter side. However my daughter only wore it around the house for 20 minutes and she seemed to walk ok so it may not be an issue. 4it's not too big because my very lean child was stuffed into the body of the costume like a cute little shiny sausageMy daughter loves this outfit. The metallic blue is very shiny in person and makes quite an impression for a mermaid loving girl. And I know, I know, it's a mermaid tail and human children are obviously not mermaids, BUT the thing just fits weird. As amazingly attractive as it is, my bling-loving child took it off after a few minutes because it is just so strange fitting. The sleeves covered her hands completely and the tail just drags in front of her feet, impairing walking. Maybe it's too big, I thought...but no, it's not too big because my very lean child was stuffed into the body of the costume like a cute little shiny sausage, so a smaller size would have been shorter, but also too small in the body. Not sure if it's going back yet or not...I will give it another go tomorrow to see if she can wear it or even wants to, and if not, buh-bye. 2Small and cheapThe sizing on this costume (and this costumes brand, for that matter) is really weird. I followed the guide provided and got a small for my 5 year old and it was super tight. The packaging says size 4-6 for a 3-4 year old. It doesn't state that in the item description. I also feel that the quality is very poor. It is a very inexpensive item, but I don't think it would last through a night of trick-or-treating. The back is cut in a v-shape for the mermaid tail but isn't reinforced, so when she tried it on it could see it was stressed and would rip if she walked in it. I returned the costume. 1This product runs VERY small. I got the 4- 6 and it was too small.Product was pretty, but WAY too small for the size it was suggested for. The 4 - 6 was more like a 2 - 4 at best. The sleeves were scratchy so we cut them off at the shoulder and it was better. Cute on the child it actually fit. Fun for playing dress up. Picture is of the tiny one, the one who wears from a 2 to a 4 depending, but, she will be 5 in Dec. and this fits just fine. Just ordered the next size up for her sister. 2Magical Mermaid Child CostumeAdorable costume! It hung a little too low for my almost 5 year old, but we hemmed it up to make it useable. It is not very sturdy, but for a Halloween costume it is fine. It is not like we wear it often. I will keep it for her younger sister in case she wants to be a mermaid. On a side note, this is the same costume they sell at Weeki Wachee State Park in Florida. We went there to see the mermaids and my daughter was stoked that she had a "real" mermaid costume! 4Terrible fit. Was 12" too long for my 5yoThis costume is obviously very cheaply made and intended for one time use however I didn't even use it one time.My 5yo is 50% for height and weight so in other words she's average height and weight. This dress was 12" too long. As a result the slit in the back was so far down her legs that she couldn't walk in it. I pulled it up to be the appropriate length and pinned it but the slit in the back was so high her underwear was showing. The costume fit on the upper body and arms was actually very good so that tells me it is not completely the wrong size.The tail at the bottom looks like a foam finger. It is super cheap looking. 1Supercute. Perfect fit.Love, Love Love this costume. Super cute. Fits my daughter to a T! She is petite for her age (6y/o) the small was perfect for her. Comfortable enough to walk around for trick-or-treating. Would be difficult to play in- because of the slim fit. The first one we bought came with a tear along one side seam. We did the return and the new one came. I missed the opportunity to return the torn one because of hurricane Irma. Things were crazy for our family, so I was charged for the 2nd one. Hoping tp contact the company, now that we're pretty much back to normal and I've found the box with the torn one. 5Typical costume. Looks cheaper in realThose who said this runs small lied! My daughter is 40lbs and the m-8-10 is hugeeee on her I will have to alter the costume. Bought this for her carnival parade so I will just have to add glitter. It's nice and light and the color is exactly as seen here. Again it will need to be altered to fit like the picture. Also the back has no tail fin it looks unfinished! The bottom of the costume and the top half of the back has stretch so no need for a zipper. Comfortable for my child. 2Cheaply made and very awkward fit - not safe to walk in unless the child is rather tallI'm not impressed at all with this costume. It is very cheaply made and is an incredibly awkward fit. My nearly 4 year old who is thick but not LARGE barely fits in this, however it is SUPER long and because the fin is in the front it is a major tripping hazard. A tall thin 6 year old may be fine in this but I think it would be a hazard to anyone else. I would not recommend this at all. 1Good costume. For slim kids! Looks cute and seemed comfortableGreat mermaid costume. Fits well on thin kids. I can't imagine a chubby kid fitting into this properly. Probably best on kids that are slim because of the straight design.If you're unsure of the size just keep in mind the mermaid tail might be way too long if you get a larger size.My daughter was comfortable wearing it. 4
