    Good for Beginners but the Instructions are too VagueThe directions seem a little bit too vague as there are no written instruction, only pictures. There is an extra boat that is included in the kit that is not present in the instructions, you can see where it goes but it should still be listed. The overall quality of the boat is good, definitely worth the price. It is a very good beginner project and is fun to assemble.3Poor quality isn't worth any price.Our Chinese friends were sure to put their name on the molds; even so blatant as to keep the trademark date of 1959. Which as anyone with a rudiment of Historical knowledge will find odd. That insult to our intelligence aside, the real problem stems from the misalignment of mold halves, leaving parts that require extensive trimming to make presentable. A problem, further, that renders some of the parts less substantial than they were designed to be and so ill-fitting to the model as a whole. Truly a disappointment that Revell is so interested in the profits from cheap Chinese labor that they obviously don't give a damn about the quality of the product that carries their name.2Poor Quality!I take many things that I do not like in stride. Look over my past ratings. This model is ridiculous. PLEASE DO NOT BLAME ANY SELLER FOR THIS. BLAME REVELL. I initially built one of these around 1976. My parents went to Hawaii and brought me back this model. It was way thicker! More Solid. On the top of this ship you can see right through the cheap plastic. The hull of this model is a travesty. There is only one pin and hole on either end of this, unlike the old one. The rest you glue and hold together. No problem if the pieces are machined correctly. Mine has an 1/8" gap all the way down. There is no way to glue it because it does not match.When the deck gets glued on it will make the gap worse. Because you have to squeeze the upper part of the ship inward to hold the deck. If I had known this from the start. I could have glued the middle first. But, you can't glue totally uneven pieces. Perhaps I could have spent the next week sanding both sides?I wanted so bad to throw the whole kit in the trash. Then I realized anyone can quit. Once the upper deck gets painted and installed. I am going to attempt to putty the bottom.1Very disappointed with itVery disappointed with it.It took me three days of scraping and sanding just to get the two hull halves to fit together properly. The instuctions are not very instructional as to tell you where to paint certain colors where so I had to kind of guess where to paint the flat black areas on the deck and bridge areas. Been a month and a half and still not completed with it.1Good kit, but get the photoetch to got with it.Nice model. Most parts well molded with minimal flash, instructions are easy to use. Couple of minor issues but overall great kit. Do yourself a favour and get the photo etch kit that goes with this. Huge difference.4Great Christmas GiftThe model has a lot pieces but as expected in the details and still clear to assemble. Need an exacto knife to finish and have clean cuts, ordered the glue right there online as well so able to get all the work in. We bought model paint to adjust finish and details. Still hours to complete, not done yet!5Challenging buildNot to happy with all the flash, also there are some parts that just don't line up, you will have to spend some time fixing such issues.3Nicely detailed kit at a great price.I commend companies such as Revell for producing model kits that strike a good balance between price and detail. The kit contains 133 parts molded in a medium grey plastic. The hull length measures approximately 17.5 inches. The model has good overall detail and looks the business built straight out of the box. The model can be further enhanced with the addition of rigging and even aftermarket photo-etched detail parts. A terrific kit for less than $18.00.5Good model if you add photo etch parts kitI was lucky enough to find the photo etch parts kit specifically made for this model on eBay. It can still be found if you look around. It makes the model! Of course you have to cut away all the clunky plastic railings and gun shields, but I took my time with an Xacto blade and the results were worth it. I built the ship whole and sunk it into a foam diorama base I made with Acrylic Modelling paste and and clear Acrylic Gel applied over acrylic paint.Like most models, you get out what you put into it.4Great price as a gift.I bought this plastic model of the USS Arizona as a gift for a raffle during our ship reunion which also happen to have been home-ported at Pearl Harbor. Never received feedback from the recipient but I am sure from the information it was a great keepsake from our reunion. Good price.5
