Customer Reviews

Good but not Great- unit too light- battery not rechargable.Works perfect. The only complaint with this unit is that the monitor (he parents unit) is too light- meaning that even the weight of its cable can make it fall (and it has on a few occasions- to its merit- without damage). The other negative is that the battery is not rechargeable and lasts very little. Otherwise it works very well if used on a fixed or plugged in location. 4Awesome product! I've been using mine 24/7 since my ...Awesome product! I've been using mine 24/7 since my baby was 4 months-old (now it's a yr old, so do the math)I really like the sound sensibility, and also the response timing, as it won't scare you to death for sudden clips, or baby spontaneous noises like kicking the bed with her feet or normal movements that are done while sleeping.Range is great, and battery consumption is as great too. I've used it with rechargeable batteries and it lasts for over a week by using it a 2-3 hours on battery juice.Only thing that could do better is the led night lamp to be a little brighter, or maybe have 2-3 levels of intensity, that however won't change my opinion on how good the product is in terms of price/reliability/quality. 5This things works great. I still have signal through 3 closed doorsThis things works great. I still have signalthrough 3 closed doors, down the hall, past my garage and outside in the driveway. And it filters out background noise in the room, but pops back on at the slightest sound from baby. Love this! 5Once I came to trust it to transmit any talking/crying then I really began to like not hearing the snores and sighs coming from the ...Replaced a set that would frequently have interference and have to be positioned just so to make it through 1 plaster wall. This set has no trouble at all.It took awhile to get used to the feature where it doesn't continue to transmit sound if there is just white noise. I guess I was a bit paranoid that I might miss something quiet that was happening. Once I came to trust it to transmit any talking/crying then I really began to like not hearing the snores and sighs coming from the baby's room. 5Baby Monitor to the Rescue...We went through I don't know... 4 or 5 baby monitors before finding this one. At this point, I don't know if you're going to get a perfect product but for us this one is darn near close.A little background:We had twin boys in December of 2014 -- they were premmie and if you've ever dealt with a premmie you know you're not doing a lot of sleeping... partially because you're scared to death they're going to stop breathing at any moment(but usually while you're trying to sleep) and partially because they're noisy little suckers -- it's like tending to baby goats. We had an additional problem in that the range of the video monitor that we used with our daughter would not reach to our bedroom so we had to come up with another solution. We finally settled on, after much discussion about Russians watching our babies sleep(conclusion, who cares) a Dropcam(now Nest) coupled with an audio monitor might work -- I bought the Safety 1st Baby monitor which worked most of the time, but it also sent over a lot of static and if you left it on too long it would freak out -- it finally broke after a year(it's a good thing because I had developed a strong hate for it) We then tried several more, most of them did not work because of range -- the ones that did were noisier than our baby goats--The Philips Avent DECT baby monitor was the hail mary toss in baby monitors -- turns out it had no problem with the range AND the big winner is.. if there's no noise, it doesn't make any noise -- AHHHHH, at least for some of the night I now have peace and quiet instead of listening to their rain machine and static all night long -- it has a built in noise gate, which is triggered when ambient noise rises beyond a certain point and it's quite sensitive. We actually place the monitor outside of their door. The first few nights of using it, I was afraid it would not respond if the babies make noise, but it does... every time...I sat there with dropcam(which has a slight delay) and the monitor one night and it didn't miss one baby sound-- I completely trust it now and our quality of sleep has improved dramatically -- I highly recommend this monitor-- Oh and it works with 220v as well, we took it to Germany, yeah ...twin babies in Germany, I don't know what we were thinking.... 5This product works great! Its incredible how sensitive it isThis product works great! Its incredible how sensitive it is, but shuts off after a short time if the sound levels don't stay above the trigger threshold....which is exactly what its designed to do. I have had ZERO issues with losing connectivity. I had bought another brand awhile back and it was worthless. I actually use the monitors to listen for unusual sounds in my basement. I have a kitty that has to live in basement at night and I was terrified she would be sick or something during the night and I wouldn't know. It picks up her playing with her toys and when she meows. I also need to be able to listen for any sounds that someone might be breaking in, or if the mechanical equipment (boiler/hot water heater, etc) malfunctions. 5You hear EVERYTHING.I really wanted to like this monitor because it works with 220v and we are traveling internationally soon. However, this monitor is just too sensitive and picks up the slightest sounds. We have a white noise machine in the baby s room, and that noise transmitted all night long. I thought the eco mode was supposed to only transmit when sounds in the room changed, but that is not the case. Need to return and buy a vtech one that has sensitivity control... even though those are only 110v rated. 3Great for older childrenI have a more expensive 2-way avent monitor for the baby s nursery, so when I needed something for my preschooler s room I was pleased to use the same brand. Clear reception, simple to use. Child s unit must be plugged in, and I keep parent unit always plugged in downstairs to save on batteries. This is great for babysitter doing homework while the kids sleep, and great for me to be in yard or garage during naps and hear when my child wakes up. My kids don t get out of bed on their own, but always wait until I come into their rooms to get them after naps. Love the low price, and absence of video feed that I don t want or need. 5Lacking important featuresI purchased this as a spare/travel monitor. My main baby monitor is a higher model of the same brand so I felt like I could trust that this would work well. And indeed, the reception was great even all the way to the third floor of our vacation home. But, it lacks some features that other similar monitors manage to keep even at this lower price point. I thought I could live without the two way function while traveling, but learned on this trip that this is a feature that s truly essential when your baby is sleeping in a strange room ;). Additionally, I thought this monitor was able to tune out white noise, like my main monitor. But whatever the purpose of the eco mode it supposedly has...it doesn t quite work like that. Still heard my white noise machine the whole time.So in short, this is a fine monitor and it does what it s supposed to do, but I wish I had gone with a different brand that offers two-way and white noise recognition. 2Very good quality baby monitorThis monitor does a great job. The baby room unit is wired to the power outlet. The remote unit can be run by batteries or by a power cord. We use ours with 2x Amazon-branded rechargeable AA batteries. It requires two AA batteries. The unit will NOT recharge your batteries for you, even if you plug it in. You'll need to use a standard battery charger to recharge the batteries, if you're using rechargeables. It doesn't come with batteries, so you'll need to supply your own.Important Note: it will sound like it's cutting out once in a while, or often. It isn't. It tries to save battery power by only transmitting sound when there's something to send. If the room is very quiet, it won't send any audio at all. If you have a fan running in the background, you'll sometimes hear it and sometimes you won't. This is NOT a problem. It will transmit audio EVERY TIME your baby is making noise. We're in a neighborhood with a lot of WiFi traffic, but not a lot of houses. We have had no noticed interference issues with this monitor set. Also, supposedly the audio is encrypted. This was a requirement for us. I don't notice any lag in audio, though it does take about three seconds for the units to negotiate a conversation before audio starts streaming. These provide only one-way audio. The remote unit does not have any means of sending audio to the baby room unit. 5
