Customer Reviews

Different than the originalThe pig quality has gone down since we bought the original game four years ago. The idea of the pig party with cards is interesting, but not super fun. We ended up using the pigs to play by the original rules and point system. 4My family is obsessed with pass the pig!!!I absolutely LOVE this game. I've been wanting to find a fun game for everyone in my family to play including my 5 year old. Who would've though a couple of pigs could bring so much fun into our home. My father in law is kind of a grump and I brought this over and now he is literally obsessed with these pigs and calls me everyday and tells me to bring them over. My family wants to have a game night once a week and play pass the pig because they not only loved the game but loved how it was a fun way to bring the family together. Plus it's a good way to teach my little one basic math. I love PASS THE PIG! Only complaint would be I wish there was a paper with all of the different positions on it like in the original game rather than the cards. If you've never played pass the pig, I suggest playing the original way first and then using the cards. I love this game and suggest it to everyone I know. 5Great for mental math for young kids and a ton of fun for the whole family.I was very inspired by another reviewer on here, a teacher, who had purchased this set for the extra pigs for her classroom. I followed all her ideas, making copies of scoresheets and hundreds charts for the slower math learners, and gifted the extra pigs, pig position sheet and scoresheets to my 1st grader's classroom for the "done early" bucket. We love PTP at home around the dinner table, and we accidentally found out it is a FABULOUS way to get kids doing math in their heads. To hear your 7 year old adding 20 +1 +1 + 15 = 37 then next roll he knows +10 then =15+ 5 puts him at 67, that is successful mental math! He just thinks he is loving Pass The Pigs, but I see what it is doing. My husband who never plays games LOVES this game and asks to play it during dinner with the kids. We just use the regular game, but look forward to getting the Party Edition rules going soon. 5MORE PIGGIES!!!! Yess!!! How to make score-keeping easier for younger kids....I have had this game for years (see my review under Pass the Pigs game.) But the pigs get worn out from use. Their little feet and tails are the first to show signs of wear, therefore they fall over instead of landing in their "trotter" or "razorback" positions. So I usually have bought entire new games to get new pigs. NOW!!!! I can buy a whole set of extras. And they come in AWESOME new colors!!! I am using the black ones right now. Midnight pigs. ha ha!! The case is nice, but I usually just stick them in a little baggie or an old Altoids Smalltin, which holds them safely and fits MUCH easier into my school bag or purse. My own kids (and husband too!!) like to play this sometimes in restaurants and other places were we are just sitting and waiting. We usually just modify the game and roll only once per person, we don't need follow the written "rules" all the time! For school, again, one roll per person. And if they are not good at math (as some younger kids aren't) I use a scoresheet where they just color in as many squares as their roll is worth. So if they roll a "trotter", they color in 5 squares. I have even used this with special needs kids and it is much less frustrating than adding. I will TRY to attach a picture of my score sheet with customer images above, but right now it isn't letting me. I will edit when I get it up there. It is basically a paper with a 10 x 10 grid of squares I made on the computer. I put four grids on one sheet, which is 4 complete games. The first person who gets to 100 wins. Of course, older kids or those who NEED math practice get extra calculation practice by adding. sometimes I even make every 5th roll a multiple (like "this roll for everyone is worth 3x what is usually is!!!) Simple! For school, I make my small group of students answer a question before they get their roll. It makes the sometimes boring drill and practice of things MUCH more fun and fast-paced. There isn't ONE student who ever didn't want to roll the pigs!! They even request this game in lieu of history bingo or something. It really is one of my favorite games. The most highly requested games are (I also made special scoresheets for those games..you can find my reviews there explaining it):1. Pass the Pigs2. Zombie Dice3. Yahtzee Super MarioI really love that there are more pigs in this set. Very awesome game! .review-image-thumbnail { background-position: center center; background-repeat: no-repeat; overflow: hidden; background-size: cover; height: 160px; width: 235px; } .review-media-gallery-content { height:100%; width:100%; background-color:black; } .reviews-mobile-media-gallery .a-carousel-viewport { margin-left:15px; } .cr-thumbnail-image { float: left; } 5I love this gameI used to have a smaller set that I carried in my purse. We play at restaurants while we wait on food or other similar situations. I lost that set at some point so I replaced it with this one. It's a little larger and the zipper pouch for it is nice and I can stick an extra pencil and stuff in there. The different colored pigs are a fun addition. 5Instant classic! This game has become an instant hit with our family and friends! We have successfully rolled every combination, including the leaning jowler. No problems at all and highly recommended from all of our kids (ages 3-7). 5Addicting game, just like the classic Chicken Chit Chat!I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend's nieces because they loved playing Chicken Chit Chat with his mom, which is virtually the same game only with chickens instead. She's had the game for decades and everything is falling apart. So I got this game for them! As soon as they realized what it was, they were elated. It's a fun break from their homeschool routine and something easy enough they can play together with no adult referee. You can play to 25 or 100 points and make the game as quick or as long as you like. They were so pleased. If you have young girls (his nieces are 8-9, but they've been playing Chicken Chit Chat since they were probably 5-6), this is a fun and easy game that takes little to no strategy. 5Not neon colors in my order.Love this game. I hesitantly ordered expecting neon colored pigs. We live in ranch country and I was nervous about my son having flashy pigs. Anyway, the game arrived and the pigs were normal pig colors: white, pink, black and brown. Yay 5Not as advertisedThe colors of the pigs are white, brown, black, and nude. They were not the bright, fun colors advertised. Also, the game cards are tiny! This is like a travel game size. We will use it but it s not as fun as it looked. 2No score sheet includedSo you get 4 sets of pigs, which is nice. Rules on how to play the party mode, which may be kind of confusing. You also get playing cards. What you don't get are scoring sheets and pencil, like you get with every other version of this game. This item is cheaper priced on Amazon than the travel edition, however with a quick search you can find them for under $10. You can always print out you own score cards, but with this being a party pack why not include them. Having 4 different colored piggies is neat but other than that there is no big whoop. Also the case is cheap. 3
