    Barely functionalBought these for my kids. I had been telling them that when I was a kid we played with gyroscopes which were much more fun than fidget spinners. However, these arrived without any string to spin them. This caused a disappointing delay. When I did find some adaquate string, they spin with so much vibration that they are barely functional. My kids immediately pronounced them as lame and lost all interest. I m still wanting to show them what a decent gyroscope can do, but these definitely won t do the job. Two thumbs down. Make that 6 thumbs down if you include my boys. 1came super dirty covered in what looks to be glue or ...Poorly made, came super dirty covered in what looks to be glue or something. The paint is chipping off it right out of the box. Doesnt spin long at all. The metal seems to be coated in some gross film. Dont expect this to stay up on the stand for more then 10 or so seconds. Both of them were horrible. 1doesnt last long this thing is terribly made. it worked fine for a week but it vibrated vigorously when it spun. it spins for about 15 seconds before it loses the power to stay up. then, when i put the thing on the stand, it spun violently and the stand flew across the room. 1A bit weak and flimsy, and the string to ...A bit weak and flimsy, and the string to spin them broke almost immediately. Still we got them to spin, but the ends are not well made so couldn't get them to spin one on the other. 2Out of balance! No way this is made in the USA, maybe assembled in the USA. Very poor manufacturing, out of balance and rough finish. When gyros is spinning, it's wobbling and unstable. Well, we love the idea of physic behind it and decide to keep this toy for few days to see how it goes. Thanks. 1they don't stand up quite like I expected them toWhile these get close to what I was hoping for, they don't stand up quite like I expected them to. There is a definite wobble to both of the gyros. They can also slide a little sideways on their axle and all of a sudden make a louder noise and seem to not spin as freely. Even at the beginning, at full speed, they can't quite hold themselves horizontal on the included string or stands. Perhaps the wheel needs a bit more mass to have a stronger effect? It leaves me excited to try something nicer in the future, but these are not good enough to use for a long time, it just gets a bit old working hard to wind them, spin them fast and get close to what they are supposed to do but not quite achieving it. 3We purchased one at the planetarium in Los Angeles and ...We purchased one at the planetarium in Los Angeles and were so impressed with it. We gifted it and ordered this, which was supposedly the same brand. Unless Tedco produces differing quality levels, what we received were fakes. They were definitely not the same quality. The outside metal ring in both in the pack had slits, and the gyroscopes did not function at all properly. I wish I could go back and get more from the planetarium 1Not quite the performance/quality as those toys of yesteryear.It looks like the toy of my youth but it is not quit the quality in performance. Perhaps I will need to fine tune it by polishing the "bearing ends but, feel it should be properly balanced and perform out of the box.It works but is not balanced properly. initially it would not perform well and, even standing upright would immediately wobble and spin. putting machine oil helped a little bit. however, it has never been able to be placed on its side without falling: only works upright. 3AdequateThese had a cheap price, which is somewhat reflected in the quality. While they work fine and demonstrate the principle, the tolerances are loose enough to create jittering which saps energy away and causes it to lose its spin much more quickly. In addition, there is a break in the frame which appears to be there to allow flexing for installation of the wheel and spindle assembly - this break causes structural weakness which adds to the tolerance issues, and if the gap is bent open too far (easy to do when kids have to put it back together after a short fall pops out the spindle), it cannot be bent back sufficiently to retain the wheel/spindle assembly. This product is enough to demonstrate a gyroscope, but will not last very long under normal use. 3
