    Excellent Starter KitExcellent Starter kit with over 250 cards which build about 3-5 decent decks. Would highly recommend for those just wanting to try out the game. The boosters included are alone worth the price of this Kit. 5Great way to move from Intro Decks to your first deck buildingFun starter set, but understand that it's a starter set. This is _not_ the same as a Magic Origins Fat Pack. In a Deck Builders Toolkit you get a nice box and boosters from recent sets - they will not all be from Origins. In addition to the boosters, though, you get a semi-random selection of cards. Semi-random in that not every kit has the same cards, but they're all chosen from a pool of staple cards needed to build decks. For example, you'll get a variety of mana costs, you'll get some elves that can tap for mana, some goblins, etc. It's a great way to get started with deck building in MTG if you haven't done it before. So... do not spend money on this series... look for the Chinese counterfeits as they will be of higher quality and won't crumple up... unlike these official cards from WoTC. 1Great bang-for-the-buck set for beginners.I'm a new player, but I was impressed with this set. The color distribution is very even throughout and the packs proved useful in building decks. The fold-up guide provided helped a ton, and I was able to make 3 solid decks with the cards provided. I pulled a holographic out of one of the packs, though your mileage may vary. The card box feels sturdy enough to hold out for a few years, and looks like it could hold about 500 cards. The set itself is an amazing value; for the price of 4 boosters, you get 4 boosters, 225 extra cards, and a card box to store them all and more.I'd recommend this set to anyone looking to start playing Magic, as you can make pretty much any deck you wish from what you're given.The set comes with everything in the pictures except for the sleeves. 5Ye Scurvy Landlubber!, or, a Decent Point of Re-entry for an Old CardflopperBought on a whim to teach the better half how to play and add to the home game shelf. Played MTG all through middle and high school in the 5th edition days. Boy that's been a while. Of course when I was paring down my belongings to go off to college, my boxes of cards were viewed then as extra baggage and given to friends who continued to play. It's part of why I picked this box; it may be slightly aged out of the Standard format but included instances of a lot of cards I used to rely on: a Shivan Dragon, Serra Angel, Sengir Vampire. The novelty of that has been very fun. If you're trying to start or get back in, this has everything you need, including an awful lot of basic land (if you're starting out, consider a more current set in Standard format). You can definitely make two decks to hack around at the house, and maybe something to take to Friday Night Magic depending on your store's format, but you probably won't be competitive. But that's OK. It's fun and a reasonably good jumping-off point. If you're good on lands, go for another kind of box. 4BANG FOR YOUR BUY!The amount of cards for the price it's just incredible! While there were definitely some duplicates for me nothing was too extreme no more than maybe six or seven of a card. There were some definitely great cards in this box! Several of them alone on Amazon are .70-3 dollars a piece. If you're starting off you absolutely have got to get this! I am so glad I did, and I am itching to build my decks!! 4Magic StarterGreat for starting to play Magic but with how large the Magic universe is it's complicated to start with all the rules and variations. The box supplied enough cards for two players to get a decent amount of cards and to play. The artwork is great and the variety is very good. We have since gone more to Dominion but this startup kit is worth the money of your looking to tryout Magic. 4Good starter setThey're magic cards, they do what they're supposed to, the rest is up to you. 5
