    Smaller than describedMy daughter loves Pete The Cat, so I thought this would be perfect for her to carry around. When it delivered the cat looked smaller than described. I measured it from tip of the ears to the bottom of the feet and it was around 12.5 inches instead of 14.5. It's disappointing to me, but I'm sure she'll still love it regardless. 3Soft material, pajamas are velcroed onSuch a cute little stuffed animal! My daughter loves Pete the Cat and we already have a regular Pete doll, but we thought bedtime Pete would be fun to have while reading with the book. The pajamas are Velcro and underneath you can see the embroidered heart on his chest. Really nice doll that any Pete the Cat lover will enjoy. 5Great accessory to accommodate story bookMy grandson absolutely LOVES the book and asks me to read it repeatedly. I have the "Pete the Cat" stuffed toy and he plays with it while I read the stories to him (and I actually was considering making a shirt with velcro buttons to reinact with the story). After seeing the puppet, I just had to get it. It is a nice size and is easy to maneuver. My only disappointment is that only one of the buttons pops off (it is attached by a string so it won't get lost or disappear in little one's mouth) which I feel won't be as big a hit with the kiddies when reading the story because in the story, all 4 buttons pop off to reveal his belly button, and I believe my grandson will be trying to pop off all of the buttons and become disappointed when that doesn't happen. I guess I will still make a yellow shirt for the stuffed toy where the four buttons can pop off, and will sew a "belly button" on the toy as well. That way, it flows with the story in exact detail and my grandson will be able to reinact. Thus, that's the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I think it will still be a hit with the little ones and would recommend. I feel it would be great to have in a classroom for a Preschool or Kindergarten teacher story aide.Addendum: I failed to mention that the shirt does close with velcro, and when opened does reveal a belly button on the puppet. I discovered that on my own as it was never mentioned when I placed my order to get it. Now my grandson likes to open the shirt revealing the belly button. ;) 4Bad designThis hand puppet was very disappointing and expensive for what it is. First off, it's quite small- only little hands can fit comfortably inside.The puppet is supposed to follow the story, Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons, but it only confuses children. The second from top button, which is attached with velcro allows one to pull it off, which is great. However, the other buttons are stationary, so when children try to follow the story and pull the buttons, they rip at the shirt, nearly destroying the toy. I don't recommend at all.If I had physically seen one first, I would not have purchased. 2MehThis is the third different Pete doll we have bought. The first is the larger Pete with the red and blue shoes. That one was made of a felt like material and was cute but didn't feel very durable. The second was the smaller Pete the kitty, that one was really cute and good material, but no shoes so toddler wasn't really a fan (Pete the cat and his new shoes is my daughters favorite book). This one is good material, but the head seems huge and flat. And there were some defects. There was a glue like substance on one of the ears that is pretty noticeable. Pretty sure the glue got there when they tried sealing the bag shut and got it on the ear (the bag was also not sealed shut on that side). Another thing, there are red threads sewed into around one of the eyes, and on the nose. There is red thread for the heart and this looks the same.Overall, this is probably the least favorite from an adult perspective. I'm pretty disappointed since I was hoping this was going to be a comfort item for an overnight stay in the hospital. I will be packing a different toy. 2We Love Our Pete DollWe bought this Pete the Cat doll to go with a "Put Me in that Story" personalized Pete the Cat book. Our son loves Pete so we thought he would enjoy this. We were right! He plays with Pete all the time. It's a nice size and very soft with a little "bean bag" like material in the bottom so he can sit up. Seems to be made well and will withstand the tough play a 2 1/2 year old gives. 5Only one button pops!I bought this for my 4 year old daughter who is in love with Pete the cat right now. It's good enough to make her happy but from a parents perspective it is overpriced for what you get! Only one button "pops" off attached to a string. The other three are firmly attached. Considering this puppet is supposed to go with the story where all the buttons come off I am a little annoyed by this. I think I will probably modify it so all of the buttons can come off but are still attached by a string and are held in place by Velcro like the other button.In my opinion, if your child absolutely LOVES Pete the cat like my daughter then maybe it is worth it especially if you are able to modify it, but otherwise I wouldn't spend more than maybe $10 on this puppet. 3SAME AS SHOWNColors and Pete are exactly as shown in the picture. It's beautiful and well made. The cat has whiskers. When you open the velcro skirt, it reveals a red heart. This model does not have a 'belly button' on Pete, as you can see in my pics. 5... this for use in my preschool class and I love it!Bought this for use in my preschool class and I love it!!! Fun to use as a prop while singing the songs, plus just fun for the kids to play with. The yellow jacket is sewn on so can't be removed, and only one button 'pops' off. You can open the yellow jacket, and there is an embroidered white 'belly button' on Pete, as well as a red heart. Super cute, great price, great purchase! 5ABSOLUTELY TINY. Save your (and your kid s) money.My 5 year-old daughter used her birthday money to buy these. She was so excited to order them and use her own money. Let me be perfectly clear on HOW TINY these are. 5-6.5 inches MAYBE if you lie them flat and pull their legs down as far as they will go. The heads are the size of a quarter. She was disappointed when she opened them and saw how tiny they are and that she d spent all of her money on them. She loves the Pete books and tv show. Extremely disappointed in the dollar-store size of these characters. Save your money. 1
