My son, the collector, loved it. 5Action Figure Masterpiece!Medicos has stormed the collectible's community with a bevy of awesome products in just the past few years. Many of you may know this company for the phenomenally detailed gashapon (Japanese prize toys) they have released in the past, but now we are treated to the same level of craftsmanship in action-figure form! If you are unfamiliar with the world of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure I would highly recommend looking up Hirohiko Araki's masterworks as soon as you finish reading this. In (very) short, these figures are based on the third arc of an ongoing manga series titled "JoJo no Kimyouna Bouken" which debuted in 1987 and features highly stylized, gorgeous artwork and extremely tense and pulse-pounding plots. Given the high level of detail in Araki-san's drawings, these 'Super Action Statues' (SAS) do the characters represented a great justice. These figures are faithful to their source material in almost every way.This review covers the 12th release of the JoJo's SAS, Jotaro Kujo 2nd, which is the second release of this figure, but featuring paint applications specified by Hirohiko Araki himself. This review can also work for the 1st SAS release as well - which was Jotaro in his black uniform as seen in many of the manga's original colored illustrations.The packaging consists of a collector friendly box with fantastic pictures of the figure in multiple poses and a brief description of the character as well as a photo of the extras which accompany the figure. Inside the box is a molded, black-plastic tray which houses the actual figure and it's many interchangeable hands. Over the black tray snaps on a clear cover which keeps the figure and accessories in place without the need for tape. You will find ABSOLUTELY NO wires or twist-ties in this packaging.The figure itself stands about 6.5 inches tall and immediately reminds one of the Revoltech line of action figures, just in a little larger scale. Right away the production values of Jotaro will become apparent. The rugged design, good weight, and flawless (I mean perfect) paint apps pop out instantly. I cannot stress how pleased I was with this figure once I got him in my hands. Featuring well over 25 points of articulation, Jotaro can strike just about any pose you can imagine. The sculpting is some of the finest I've ever seen on ANY action figure - "Super Action Statues" is such an appropriate name for this figure, it has all the poseability of a true action figure WITH the extreme detail found in a statue. From the real metal chain around the collar of his school-uniform to the wrinkles in his pants, to the buttons on his jacket, no expense was spared. This IS Jotaro Kujo. The paint has an excellent shading system which highlights all the small details found throughout the sculpt, and is especially present in the face, which is quite possibly some of the best small-scale work I've yet seen on an action figure in this scale. Truly a masterpiece.Accessories consist of twelve - count 'em - twelve extra hands which range from clenched-fists to pointing fingers, four extra heads (only two in the original release), two pant-legs which feature pockets for which his hands can tuck into, and a clear figure stand with a poseable arm that plugs into Jotaro's back! As mentioned before, this figure can be posed in almost any fashion, even those from the manga!I would wholeheartedly recommend not just this figure, but the entire line to any action figure aficionado. Whether you are an import collector (revoltech, figma, etc..), a fan of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, or just love great action figures in general, you will NOT be disappointed with Medicos' Jotaro Kujo. The value is ever present with the inclusion of all the accessories and high-caliber paint applications. We can only hope that Medicos goes back to JoJo's roots and releases SAS versions of the Phantom Blood characters!!! I admit I was hesitant at first, but if you have a chance to snag this figure - do it! It really is worth every penny!! 5
