Customer Reviews

YAY Cards! So I bought this set to get back into MTG after a few years out of the game.I got everything that I expected! a great set of cards! The only downside about the set I received was the box it came it was already coming apart at the seems...All in all, This is a good set! 4whats not to loveif youre into magic and havent explored this set yet, this box is a good value just for the number of boosters; but if youre new, then the values even better, with plenty of land to make a deck or 3, a easy countdown die, and a decent case to hold it all. personally, I got two mythic rares, and plenty of uncommon and rare cards in the boosters. dont necessarily take that into consideration, but know that in 9 packs of 15 cards, youre odds are as good as mine and anyone elses to get something impressive. Planeswalker cards are a part of the theros set. 5Exactly what it looks like!Since I'm just getting back into Magic I bought the 2014 Deck-Builder's Toolkit last week and decided to purchase this to get a little more variety for the decks I've been constructing. This was a great purchase. I didn't get a ton of amazing cards with it but they are booster packs so it's always up in the air as to what you'll get. I got one foil out of the 9 packs and a few mythic rares (nothing worth a ton) but I've now got plenty of new cards to add to some decks. The pack of 80 lands is also nice as I don't like taking lands out of decks to use them in different decks. Spindown counter is a nice bonus and is actually well made. And as always, extra storage is wonderful! The deck boxes are of good quality and the large box is very sturdy and will easily hold up to being transported back and forth from FNM and friend's houses. I like the info book as well. I'm a huge fan of the lore behind M:tG and it's always fun to read about all the different Gods and Planeswalkers that they are introducing. The only complaint I have is one that a few other reviewers have had. The poster that wraps around the box was damaged in a few places. Nothing severe but parts were bent. I don't plan on hanging it up so it's not a big deal for me. I'm assuming that because the fat pack was shipped to me in a box by itself with some padding that it gets jostled around a fair amount on the back of UPS trucks. When these get shipped to retail outlets they are shipped in a large box with a ton of other fat packs so there's not much room for them to wiggle around. In short, this is a wonderful product and I'd encourage people to buy it to help fill out your decks with new cards. As someone else said, you're basically paying for the boosters and everything else is a nice bonus. 5Fat pack is the way to goSince Theros had most of the cards I was looking for, this was perfect for me. Out of the 9 booster packs, I did pull most of the cards I wanted. Granted, I did not get a single mythic rare, which was mildly disappointing (was hoping for Ashiok). But that is okay, I got all of the other cards I wanted. Everything that comes with besides the booster packs is just a bonus. Needed more land, so this was the way to go. 5it's a random packed item...The things that you definitely get with this purchase are great. The Theros booklet has a list of all the cards in the set in it, and contains some back-story about the theme of the set.The life counter is a D20, it's hard to mess up a D20 but the life counter is a good quality one none the less. The box itself has great artwork and feels very sturdy. In true "use every part of the buffalo" fashion, the cardboard sleeve that the box comes slid into unfolds into a decent sized print of some artwork.Nevermind the fact that I managed to pull some pretty great cards from the random boosters because your mileage may vary on that one. 4Theros Fat Pack4 out of 5 stars. I love the pack of lands that you get with any fat pack, I think its great to have enough lands to switch up your deck and play with different land cards. I was pleased with the cards. I 3 rare cards and a mythic rare. the small creature, spell, and sorcery cards were pretty good and I think will hold up in a game, one can always throw in some extra booster packs for bolster and and diversify the deck. all in all it was a nice solid deck for an intermediate player. 4The boxes are pretty cool and they come with a dice and a ...Cant go wrong with a fat pack. The boxes are pretty cool and they come with a dice and a booklet. 5Great ProductTheros was a pretty incredible and value filled set. I wasn't let down by my fat pack either. I got a Nylea God of the Hunt as well as Ashiok Nightmare Weaver. At the time when I opened it Ashiok wasn't worth anything but when I last saw he had skyrocketed up to being worth twenty dollars. Which definitely shows the constantly changing magic prices for cards that are popularized by certain decks. 5Great GiftDidnt open anything amazing. However I speculate that the majority of fat packs have a foil rare in them in my experience. The the two card boxes are a waste in my opinion. They are not big enough to hold a deck in sleeves and who really plays without sleeves? Id say it is a bettter idea to make just one larger box. 5The Best Place to StartIt's a good way to jump start a collection as it has a bunch of useful odds and ends that I normally wouldn't bother buying individually such as deck boxes, a hefty pile of basic lands, a life-counter dice, and enough boosters packs to give you a good variety of cards. The artwork is rather pretty and the large card box is well-constructed. The price is on par with the boosters alone, so if you have the extra to spend it's nice getting all the extras.Overall a good buy. 5
