Customer Reviews

Poor quality. These do not work for table top gamingI wish I had read the reviews first. This product comes as 3 separate pieces. The pieces do not snap together securely. The two top pieces simply rest into the base. The base does not hold the two top pieces tightly together even with paper in-between they either lean to one side or split open. The pieces can not be moved waiting falling apart. 1Good not greatOk. I DO like them. I like their shape and construct. The thickness is nice and they're.a good size for board games and tRPGs. I can use a disassembled clear piece as a template for sizing. They feel like a nice quality plastic and they aren't scratched or opaque. My issue, however, is the design of the base. It does not hold the clear pieces securely. They wobble and flop and fall right out. I wish they clicked securely in straight. I won't return them because with a dot of hot glue, they will be great for my intended purposes. I may even buy another set for more monsters for D&D battles. 4Great product. Requires specific glue and assembly. Most of the negative reviews are from folks who did not read or do any research. The stands are laser cut slides and mounts. Use an acrylic glue or cement that does not contain cyanoacrylate. It is the chemical that the manufacturer says causes fogging. Picked up a tube of acrylic gel glue for about $3. These stands turned out great and really added to our tabletop experience. 5High-Risk AssemblyWarning: The assembly process requires a high DEX with proficiency in Sleight of Hand. And perhaps the Halfling ability to reroll natural 1's.The required acryllic "cement" is actually a solvent that temporarily melts the acryllic in order to weld the pieces together. This is good if you want a solid bond to assemble a durable product that will last a long time. But it's also really easy to mess this up, especially since you need to apply a fine amount of the liquid to enclosed angles, without accidentally getting a string of the liquid anywhere else along the front/back faces, all while holding the pieces in their near-perfect right angles while the product dries. This set can assemble 5 stands, and I managed to botch all 5 in different ways. I have two open V's, two abberations with strings of melted acryllic defacing the view, and one which managed to fuse the base to the paper I was using to protect my table. The number of assembled stands I will actually make use of is zero. This product would be a substantial boon to gamers everywhere if it weren't for the high-risk assembly process that risks irreversibly destroying everything you hope to build. I would not recommend this to anyone unless you have extensive experience with fine crafts, possess a smaller applicator to dispense the cement, and have an excellent idea in how to safely hold the right angle while the product dries. Otherwise, I'd press for a pre-assembled version. 2Amazing Alternative to Minis!!NOTE: MUST BE GLUED WITH ACRYLIC CEMENT. It s fairly easy if you use a small amount of glue and take your time. I think a lot of people just don t read the product description or very clear instructions that Litko provides. ::facepalm::This is such an amazing alternative to miniatures! Many of my friends and I are artists, so getting to draw our characters and creatures is really fun and so much cheaper than buying and painting minis. It s also nice to essentially have every mini out there with just a few stands. If we enter an encounter and don t have the right creature printed, we can print it out super quickly and bam! Mini acquired. Ready for initiative. Thanks, Litko! 5Not a bad option - if you read the directions and product descriptionSo many of the negative reviews are by folks who did not read up on how to work with acrylic plastics and/or did not read in the product description where it tells you that they need to be assembled. If you do it right - correct glue, not a rush job - you wind up with some pretty damn good results.First, if you use super glue, crazy glue, or other such materials on acrylic, you're going to have a very bad time. You *must* use one of the correct adhesives for hard plastics. Look for an adhesive that states it works with acrylics. If you don't do that, you are going to hate this product because you will misuse it and damage it and do a terrible job. The fault will be with you.Properly used, they make perfectly serviceable reusable paper mini-figs. I picked up fifteen of them and all fifteen are now cured and ready to see action on the table top.Update: I decided to upload an image of six tokens. These were made with this product, a pair of scissors, and a free image editing program. Some were printed on paper, others on cardstock. I used the photo editor to print the same image stacked vertically (once upside down), folded thepaper, and slotted it. Easy.Get the right glue and give them time to cure, and these are great. 4These stands are great!I purchased the 1.5 inch tall stands with the hopes of using paper versions of the Pathfinder Pawns that I found in .pdf files online. The stands arrived in a small bag. I bought some acrylic glue at the hardware store and did the assembly, which was pretty quick and easy. The results were as expected and hoped for.I have ordered 15 more small & 6 large stands based on my initial experience. If you are look for a good alternative to miniatures or the actual cardboard pawns these will do the trick. 5If you have a color printer, a hot glue gun, and access to paper pawns, get these!!!Instructions: I went against instructions and assembled these with a simple hot glue gun in about 10 minutes. Sure, I had some clumping at the base, but that's my fault. They dried great and are SOLID! That exceeded my expectations! Nice and heavy, especially for playing outdoors or a hot rooms with a lot of fans blowing!!!Cost: These are very inexpensive considering they are infinitely reusable. Since I was looking to save money and not get the official Paizo Pawns, I decided on the PDFs. These are perfect to utilize the printed PDF pawns! I shrunk the PDFs down to 80%, and the pawns fit perfectly! (Results could vary depending on your printer.)Verdict: Exactly what I hoped they would be! They look great and feel very sturdy.Instructions: Use the glue they recommend. You will get three pieces per unit, a dark base with notches and two clear panels with tabs. A light line of glue from notch to notch on the base for each panel and maybe a little drop for each notch and it should bind together great. Put the panels vertically into the notches after gluing and let it sit for a while to dry properly. If you like it a little tighter, or are using lighter paper, hold the panels together up top. The place where you put the paper will be a little wider on the bottom than the top, but the top will hold in the paper better. You CAN use hot glue, though go easy on it as it clumps a bit more than you may like. Print the pawns double sided, 80% or so, depending on your printer, and slide them in! Enjoy! 5I was impressedI was hesitant about this. Looking at all the reviews I was pretty biased and thought to myself that wouldn't work, but being the cheap person I am I was willing to try. When you put these together I highly recommend their acrylic adhesive. Take your time and please don't use super glue. I only had one fail and that was my fault. I was being way to conservative with the glue on my first one. They look and feel great with a good amount of weight for being so small. A few tips before you put them together. Use a tooth pick to spread the glue on the bottom of the vertical pieces, use clothes pins to keep them together while you wait for it to dry, and take your time 4the result was not horrible, and works perfectly for what I wanted it ...I did my homework before purchasing and assembling these. Despite knowing what I was getting into, the final result was not spectacular. You have to VERY CAREFULLY control the amount of glue, otherwise it rises up between the two pieces of plastic. Overall, the result was not horrible, and works perfectly for what I wanted it to do. Honestly I would rather have paid a little bit more to get them assembled in a standard and professional way. 4
