    So fun!We have given this as a birthday gift many times. My son has this set in blue and has been playing with it for 2.5 years. It has been so fun to see how his imagination works and as he grows seeing how he plays differently with this set. 5Where to start. Just bad.I love when pretend sets make an effort to try to look authentic and to really try to educate young kids on what the different tools are used for. This set does not get even close.The quality and rendering of each tool is so poor that at times you can barely make out what the tool is supposed to represent.The speculum is just a plastic cone with a hole at the tip. The reflex hammer is a piece of hard plastic.For other tools you question how they were thinking they should be used.The band-aids are made of hard plastic that only fits around my son wrist as a very-painful-to-put-on bracelet.The thermometer, the stethoscope, and the sphygmomanometer (to measure the blood pressure) are simply bad. They don't have any logic in the way they operate that would help you teach a young kid what they are used for.I was expecting more from a Learning Resources toy.On the plus side, it comes in a easy to store carrying case. 1lots of positives, some negativesThis is a nice doctor kit. It was comes with many pieces for a thorough exam or minor surgery. The cell phone, pager, and stethoscope make sounds. The blood pressure cuff has moving parts that make it more like the real thing. On the downside, I would prefer a working stethoscope to one with recorded sounds, we don't find the pager to be very useful in our child's pretend play, the blood pressure cuff should for a wider range of and, especially small ones as it does not fit the kids, and an ear thermometer with a wide tip would be better than oral because I don't want my kids putting it in their mouths. 4July 2014 - We LOVE this set.Wow. My 3 year old son and even I love this Dr. Kit! So many pieces and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Cell Phone, Pager and Stethoscope are electronic. The Cell Phone requires 2 AA batteries but the other items include batteries. The phone and pager make various beeping noises and lights and then stethoscope makes a heartbeat and coughing noise. We spent hours giving the stuffed animals exams last night. So fun.Also note there were some complaints that there was a choking hazard on the dental mirror - the manufacturers have replaced that with a mirrored sticker instead of the mirrored disc that apparently had come off on someone's set. And apologized. Good on them.I think this set is very well made and I look forward to passing this down to younger family members in a few years. This is the best one that I have seen. Enjoy! 5The syringe is very cool (we have lots of fun giving each other shots ...I don't know... it's.. so not even close to the real thing.. you know? My 2 yr old who was in the hospital for about a week tinkering with the real thing every time a nurse/doctor came in to check on him played with this a few times and is now over it. The syringe, the stethoscope and the blood pressure monitoring thing were the biggest hits. The syringe is very cool (we have lots of fun giving each other shots and pretend cringing in pain). The stethoscope hurt to put them on because the earpieces are hard plastic. The heart-beat sound is lame and you have to really listen for it to hear it. He did not understand that the sound is supposed to be a heart-beat. The blood pressure strap is so short you can barely wrap it around his arm. No chance at wrapping it around an adult's arm which is kind of the point I would think - to have the child play doctor and parent play patient. So unless you're checking his blood pressure (no fun for him) you have to hold with your hand on your own arm. Plus the pump goes out after the first few uses. It will not re-inflate so, you end up playing pretend with a broken pump that can't wrap around anyone's arm. It goes without saying, the real fun comes when the parent makes it fun by using these toys as props. But.. for $20+ I want some better props. 3Great for the budding doctor in the familyWe gave this to our 5 year old grand-daughter and she loved it. Pink is her favorite color so she liked it even before she opened it but even more so when she say how many pieces there were. One of her favorite Christmas gifts and she had to "treat" everyone in the family for various ailments. Her 7 year old cousin wants one too. The case is sturdy and the instruments seem well made. 5Great doctors setMy 2 year old has had this for a year and still loves it. I bought it for her because she was terrified of the doctor and everything that he tried to do (look in ears, eyes, listen to heart, etc.) This really helped her get more comfortable with it and she enjoys using it on all of us! It has everything she needs to play doctor and works great. The stethoscope makes a heartbeat sound and the blood pressure cuff spins. Everything has held up perfectly for us for a year now, so I highly recommend it. The only con would be that it was hard for her to open (I had to open it for her up until recently). Because it does have clasps that are a little tricky for a 1 year old. Great toy otherwise! 54/5 stars!The product came quickly and on time and in the cute little box pictured above. It has plastic inserts that each toy comes in but it's not something I would keep for storage because it's so flimsy...so all of the pieces just get thrown in the box which isn't really an issue to me. The box is sturdier than I expected though and we may end up using it for something else down the line.My daughter is 20 months old and loves Doc McStuffins so I figured this would be fun for her. The pieces are all appropriately sized and there's nothing too small I have to worry about her choking on.The beeper, cell phone and stethoscope are all battery powered (cell phone does not come with batteries though, 2 AAA) but the stethoscope only works some of the time which again, doesn't really bother me or my daughter but it's why I'm giving this 4 stars and not 5 stars. It's supposed to make either a coughing noise or a heartbeat noise but the coughing kind of sounds like giggling (my daughter thought it was laughing, I had to tell her it was coughing lol). The blood pressure cuff doesn't fill with air but when you squeeze the pump the dial spins around which my daughter loves! Although you do kind of need to squeeze hard and it barely fits my wrist but fits her arm perfectly.The bandaids fit her great as well, and can bend a little to fit mine. The thermometer has a little dial you can spin as well with the degrees in F and C. The shot is spring loaded and fun for my little one to press (although it does take her two hands at this point in time lol). Everything else is very child friendly and honestly great for any child interested in doctor stuff or even to become less scared of the doctor.If my review helped you please click the button that says "helpful"! Comes with lots of accessories and my kids love playing doctor!The blood pressure cuff has velcro so it will stay on the arm and if you squeeze it the air will make an arrow rotate around pointing to different numbers which my girls love the interactive play!The cell phone takes 2 A A batteries (not included) and every button makes beeping noises or ringing noises!The thermometer has a dial that you turn and it has different numbers that show up.The pager (my kids have no idea what this is lol) makes noises when you press the buttons.The stethoscope alternates between a cough noise and a heart beating noise when you press the button.The shot has a spring in it so when you press it down it will pop back up instead of having to pull it back up yourself.Everything feels super durable and I am very pleased with the quality in this set. Everything that required batteries had them included except for 2 AA batteries in the cell phone. 5Fun Toys, Decent QualityPROS:+ LOTS of different tools (as shown in the picture)+ Colorful+ Simple locks on the case so my younger child can't get into it+ Just plain cuteCONS:+ Flimsy, rough plastic pieces (ie. stethoscope cuts your ears and the case will snap in the middle if your little person steps on it)+ Plastic mold that holds the toys in place is only temporary. Once you pop the toys out, it is pretty much unusable.+ Buttons on the pager and phone are particularly annoying, even for a kid toy. (Solution: Just don't put batteries in them)Still, my three-year-old loves this set and has lots of fun playing doctor! 4
