Customer Reviews

The kids love it, and it's inoffensive and somewhat educational.I got this for the kids on the assumption that it would help to teach math.Honestly, it doesn't teach a great deal of math, and even that not in a very rigorous way. Just some very basic basics, like recognizing place value (what's the difference between 1, 10, 100, and 1,000 for example and which are which?) and counting. And as an adult, I have to say that the game seems boring, repetitive, and unimaginative to me.BUT, with that said, this game is an absolute favorite with my five-year-old, who wants to play it all the time still, months later. And while my six-year-old isn't quite *as* enamored with it, she still says okay every time, enjoys herself, and gets into the game.So as with so many things in life, even if it seems dull to an adult, it can still be absolutely absorbing to a kid. And even if it doesn't teach all that much math, it's still G-rated and has numbers and counting in it. When you compare to all the other "absolutely absorbing to a kid" stuff that's out there in the world today, those properties make it stand head and shoulders above much of the rest. 4Fun game. My kids like the graphics and dinosaursFun game. My kids like the graphics and dinosaurs. At the end of the turn, you can pick a card with a math equation to solve. The questions are maybe 1/2 too hard for my 7 year old which is too bad because I don't see her playing this on her own within a couple of years when those questions might be about grade level. I could sort them out too if I really wanted though. The box breaks easily and the cards are made out of paper, so I would probably laminate them before using in a classroom and then they would be good. 4Fantastic Game!Purchased for my 5-year-old. This is a fantastic game! It's got several levels (we're playing the easiest currently) with two different card sets that are used for the harder levels. The dinosaur toys are great for keeping a younger kid's interest. Strongly recommend as a math game that will actually keep a kid's interest. We own a lot of different math education games, and this is turning out to be one of our favorites. 5I love that this game has three different ways to playI love that this game has three different ways to play. After playing one game, my six year old could read any four digit number correctly! 5Mistakes on the game cardsI purchased this for my daughter to help her with place value. She loves the dinos, but when we play with the action number cards there seems to be a lot of mistakes. For example, the yellow dino starts out in the 1's positions, but the cards and the directions both have the yellow dino in the 1000's position. It is confussing for her since for example, she is looking to move the yellow dino back 3 thousands with an action number card and it is actually in the ones position. I've tried calling the company to see why the differences in the game board, directions and cards, but have received no answer. I'm rating the game a little higher, because she loves the dinos and if you don't play with the cards it makes sense. 3Short game, too easy for 1st and 2nd gradersThe game is well made, but my kids are bored with it. They re in 1st and second grade, and it s just far too easy. The game is over in less than 10 minutes every time. What fun is that? For the price, we expected more. I d return it but we already played it. And then played it again thinking we did something wrong. I d spend your $ on something else. 2Great game!Dino Math Tracks has been an utter success with our son beginning at about four and a half and still going strong at six. He was already pretty good with numbers and this game really sped along his development with the concept of places as well as his addition and subtraction, along with some simple multiplication and division. We played/play so often that he's memorized answers to the card questions so we change the numbers to new ones each time. The game is very well designed not just for its educational purposes but also for ensuring consistent family fun. Unlike some games, because there is always a chance of a "dino showdown" when one dino lands on another, players are often involved even when it is not their turn. This is key for younger kids in keeping their attention. Because you can decide to play with only some of the places (dropping thousands for example), you can tailor it to your own child's development. The other plus is that you can also play it more speedily when time is an issue--we often drop down to three places for the "just one more" game before bedtime. To be honest, I can't quibble with anything--the game has been a total success. Highly recommended for ages 4 and up. 5Very niceKids loved it 5Fun little game. Our family likes it.This is a fun little game. It was a little confusing the first go around as we were just trying to get the idea of the game. The second time it was played, my 9 and 7 year old played by themselves. I just hung around to see if they were playing the game accurately. They did just fine. It has 3 different styles of games in this one game. We have only played the first method thus far. 5Fun game!My kids (ages 8 and 4) and I really enjoy playing this game! It's fun and educational! 5
