    Pleased overall, but flimsy and need to be laminatedThese are a little advanced for the age of kids I currently teach, but they will grow into them in the next six months or so.I'm glad I bought them, as they offer plenty of challenging patterns to recreate. They match the buck of bears that I bought at the same time perfectly.My only concern is how flimsy they are. I had hoped they would be just a little thicker. As they are, they will get damaged and destroyed quickly, so I will have to take them to Kinkos and have them laminated. It's a little unfortunate as it will add to the price tag more than I had hoped. :( They just aren't very sturdy and won't hold up to much use as is. 4The large size bear weighs 12g, the medium 8g and the small 4g. Using these in a college math class, and the students love themI am using these in a college level statistics class for teaching sampling, central limit theorem and standard deviation. My students actually enjoy the hands on experience with these bears, in fact some of them used them in grade school. I was surprised by how much they enjoy them and have a more concrete understanding from using them.I have them take samples, and then weigh the samples and calculate the mean and standard deviation of the various samples , it provides a concrete example of how standard deviation varies. Plotting those means then shows them how the central limit theorem works.The large size bear weighs 12g, the medium 8g and the small 4g. 596 Rainbow BearsI have been wanting these for some time but didn't want to pay that price as I do think they are a bit overpriced. I was excited they are a bit larger then I expected and made well. I needed them as a math manipulative for my 4 year old who we are starting to teach kindergarten too. They have a plastic storage container with a lid that stays securely on. I really like these bears 4Great multi-use, educational toyThese bears are great learning tools for children. I worked with preschool aged children for 10 years and these were always in the classroom. I recently purchased these for my 2 year old son and he enjoys playing with them. He uses them for imaginative play and color sorting. We are working on sorting by size and counting, but he is more interested in color sorting. I will also use these in the future for teaching him patterns. This size container has enough bears that more than one child could use these at the same time to do sorting or pattern work. There are three different sizes that are easy to tell apart. The red and the orange are fairly similar in color, but you are able to tell them apart. Great purchase for anyone wanting to do color, size, patterns, counting, etc with small children. 5LOVE the bears!LOVE LOVE LOVE these bears! They make counting, sorting, and patterns so much fun for my 4 year old! I purchased these as an add on to my homeschool curriculum and I am so glad I did! My son loves sorting the colors of the bears into the matching bowls. It comes with several 'worksheets' that are nicely laminated. It also has different levels on the worksheets.The only negative that I have is I wish the orange bears were more of a pumpkin orange. The ones we received are more of a red orange and can easily be mistaken for red by someone just learning their colors. My suggestion would be to make sure you sort all of the bears before beginning the lesson. If you just leave them all mixed up it is very easy to confuse the red with the orange bears. 4I used those little bears as tokens for training my ...I used those little bears as tokens for training my son to poop in the toilet. He could pick one little, medium or big bear whenever he did so. As you can imagine, he had a growing collection until he felt he did not need those bears anymore. Now that they do not serve as tokens anymore, I use it with both of my sons to sort size and colours, reproduce patterns and count. 5Very nice, but don't forget the bears...My 4 year old really enjoyed playing with the bear counters, and the cards, and figuring out which bears come next in the sequence. The only problem, small that it is, is that I purchased the scales (with the 102 baby bears,) not paying enough attention that these cards have sequences that use the entire "3 Bear Family..." Of course, the baby bears are all the same size, so I made my way back to Amazon's website and purchased the 96(?)-3 Bear Family counters (with the inclusion of Mommy Bear and Daddy Bear...) I was disappointed at first to realize that we couldn't do all of the cards when they arrived, but I am really happy that they do include size differences on the cards. It adds another level for them to grow into. This really encourages her to think, and introduces patterns and sequences in a really nice, fun way. She loves them, and I love that we both get to work together with them. 5Highly recommended!I bought these bears as a teaching aid. I thought they were all the same size. Now I am glad they aren't. My girls love them (ages 3 years and 18 months). The different sizes give me even more uses for teaching. I would highly recommend this tub of bears. Bonus activity ideas on the back of the label! 5Not all thereNice color, BUT there wasn t 96 bears in the tub. I thought the tub should have been taped/sealed closed somehow, but it wasn t. The break down of each size and color was different. I only got 86 and the break down was weird. Large 5 yellow and 4 each purple, orange, red, blue, green. Medium 3 each purple and orange, then 4 each red, blue, green, yellow. Small 8 blue, 7 yellow, 6 each red, purple, orange, green.The bears themselves are nice and the shipping box along with a couple of other items in it was ok. I just want tub full that has the correct amount in it. 3Great for sorting, patterning and visual discrimination playI purchased this for my daughter who experiences Autism. I love that they teach her sorting, patternings and visual discrimination skills. It also works on color recognition, distinguishing between sizes and etc.It is VERY IMPORTANT to purchase the bear counters that actually go with this product. Other brands DO NOT WORK. I know this as I originally purchased a set of bear counters that came with colored cups and not the actual same brand. I ended up placing another order and purchasing the ones intended for this product.The reason for this is that the bears intended for these cards come in three different sizes (Papa, Mama and baby). Other brands only have one size, so while you could adapt them for use with the cards, you will not get the full use/value out of the cards and it may confuse your child.If you want to add an additional therapy use for these, purchase large Child size "Tweezers" and have them use those to place the bears on the cards (this works fine motor muscles).I would also recommend laminating the cards as if your child uses them often they will easily bend or tear.(note: I also purchased the Bear Bingo set - I love that there are other things you can do with the bears) 4
