    Great Toy!In a time of so many toys talking, walking, beeping and lighting, it can be a struggle to find a good toy that will be well received by a toddler. This is that toy. Appropriate for our 2 yr old grandson, he is able to place and stack pegs. Great for counting, sorting and color recognition. He really enjoys it and we are very happy with this purchase. 5I give it 3 only because the kids love playing with themI bought these for two of my grandchildren. My own children had had a New Zealand version of the stacker when they were young. They had a wooden board and a longer stick to put into the holes. Thus they were more stable and could be built high without falling over. I find the fact that the foam is unstable and the stick to hold the pieces together to be unsatisfactory. I give it 3 only because the kids love playing with them. Poor design Poor base. 3Very pleased with this item!I purchased this item for my Mother who is a patient in a nursing home. She enjoyed using this type of item in her therapy sessions, when the sessions ended, it seemed like a good idea to get her her own set. Just about every visit we find her using the pegs and boards. I'm so happy they are available for family to buy. I think their size, color and ease of use make them a wonderful gift for any elderly patient. My Mother loves her set and I am grateful for the ease and availability in getting them for her. Thank you! 5Great Learning ToyThese are fantastic for gross and fine motor skills! I think they are perfect for 18 months on. My son's preschool used these in the 1-2 class. He is now three but still finds them fun to use. Our nephew who just turned two uses his set all the time. It's perfect for kids who like to build but aren't necessarily ready for blocks/legos. And it's great for color recognition. Plus it's a quiet toy...a definite plus! 5a great therapy toolOur therapist used this with my toddlers to work on fine motor skills. Having one at home makes practice easy. The pegs are sturdy and large enough that I don't worry about them swallowing them. They fit together well, and my kids love making towers with them. The foam board with the holes fits perfectly in the box, so we just kept the box it was shipped in for storage. The foam board sits on the bottom of the box, and they build on it in there. That keeps the pegs pretty contained and makes clean up easy.For anyone trying to use simple toys with their children, this is a good bet. There are no cute characters, letters, or any of those distractions. The colors are simple: yellow, red, orange, green, and blue. This makes it easier for children to sort by color or make patterns. 5Great product to teach motor skillsGreat product to teach motor skills, colors and counting. There are smaller pads available which are great for traveling. We bought this for our son at around 18 month. He refused building blocks but would stack these up to 8 pieces high. After playing with these he started playing with blocks as well. 5All around great for the kidsKids love these things. Very good for younger ones with disabilities that need the hand eye coordination. 5Great sturdy productLove this product. It's held up well so far. The pegs are a thick plastic and have been chewed, stepped on, and thrown with no breakage or damage what so ever.The foam rubbery mat is sturdy as well and has been bent and played with a lot by both my 2 year old and my 5 and 7 year old little siblings when they visit.My only complaint is that the pegs are a bit hard to get apart for my DD's tiny hands(she's 2 but very petite and though strong these are tight!) once put together. I think they will probably loosen a bit as we play with them more. I would give another half star if I could. 4Learning Fun for PreschoolWe are homeschoolers and this coming fall I have an almost 3 year old joining the 'schooling ranks'. I decided instead of lots of book work I wanted hands on toys for him to use. One of my requirements was that they had to help him with motor skills because that was a real issue with my older kids.This toy has lots of uses. For play- we matched colors (put the red on the blue, green on the orange)- Count 4 red and put them on the board- put 4 pegs in the cornerSo we will use a variety of ideas to increase counting and reinforce colors. Then after all that I let my kid have free play so he will still want to use the toys next time (learning is fun but free play is awesome.)The pegs and board seem pretty sturdy. The box it comes in not so much so I'll have to come up with a container solution soon. I see this a toy that will start us off for preschool but be used until at least 1st grade. 4Pretty good stacking and building toyMy 2-1/2 yr old daughter loves to build and stack things. She was always stacking her markers end to end and subsequently popping the tops off of them and marking up stuff or the marker would dry out so I wanted to find a suitable toy to substitute for the marker stacking and these stacker pegs did the job. I subsequently found out she has these at daycare, too. These pegs are made of a very durable hard plastic and hold up well. They are a good size that I don't have to worry about them being a choking hazard if she puts them in her mouth. Even though there are 50 pegs with this item, they don't go very far especially if more than one child is playing with them. I am probably going to order the additional set off 100 pegs so there are plenty to play with. The holes in the pegboard are a tight fit for the pegs, which is good that the construction projects stay put, but sometimes pose a challenge for little hands to get them anchored. I definitely recommend placing the pegboard on a hard surface during play as carpet does not provide a very stable base for construction. We are overall pleased with this item. 4
