Customer Reviews

Weird and NostalgicBoy does this kit bring back memories! It's super easy to assemble. And don't bother buying those tiny bottles of Testors paints. Use Sharpie markers to make your Freddy fabulously colorful. I used a combination of fine points, chisel points and metallics. They work well and you don't end up with a collection of dried up enamel paints. I'm hooked! Now I just have to decide on the next Weird-Oh for my trophy shelf. 5Nice models, like I rememberNice models, like I remember, I bought several one for me and some for gifts. They are white plastic pieces attached to the trees, and they include easy instructions. I recommend a metal file to clean all the burs off the pieces. Also, painting the pieces before you glue them makes things look better in the end because of all the crannies and creases you end up having to paint otherwise. 5ExcellentDisplay only piece. 5Sling Rave CurvetteWow, was this a surprise. My husband loves putting together these old time funky models. I bought him this one for fun, but was not expecting it to be only 5.5 inches tall! The box makes it appear to be taller, but it is just almost a miniature. However, 2 of them came in the box....not sure why, but he was disappointed as was I. I went back to the picture and there was not mention of how tall it was. When I moved down to "more", I saw where they indicated it was 7" (it wasn't) x 2 inches. Buyer beware. 1No one had a clue as to what happened to good ole FreddieFirst saw a Freddy Flameout nearly 50 years ago at Webb Air Force Base, Big Spring, Texas while attending USAF pilot training. Got one at the Base Exchange. It was displayed proudly and prominently at my parents' home until 10 years ago or so. No one had a clue as to what happened to good ole Freddie. A few days ago I ran across your listing on Amazon and it arrived in record time. It has now found a new home where it will be hangared with care. By the way, I was the only Air Force pilot to have logged 100+ combat missions in both the B-52 and F-111 aircraft. Thanks for helping me save Freddie from a fate of permanent MIA to back on the flight line. It's well made, looks sharp, was easy to assemble and decorate and will bring back many war stories to be re-told. LtCol USAF (Ret) Rich Carr 5bought 2 of these for me and my son they ...bought 2 of these for me and my son they both were missing the same part his right arm very detrimental to the project had to throw them away. 1Am having a lot of fun putting it togetherI had this model when I was 8 years old back in 1963. My mom got rid of it when we moved later in the year. Was surprised to find this. Am having a lot of fun putting it together! Only wish this was still made in the US instead of China. 5Step back in timeIf you were part of the cultural car scene as a youth or young adult with Big Daddy Roth and Ratfink, get in touch with your inner monster and take a trip back in time by adding these to your man cave.Keep them boxed, or build and set up in your trophy case. You and all your friends will appreciate the great memories and nostalgia..Like race cars rats and rods? You'll love it.. 5Welcome Home Shipmate!I have been looking for this kit for decades! Like a lot of other model plane enthusiast's, I built it back in the 60's and it went AWOL after 23 August, 1974 when I commenced My 20+ year Navy Career! I'm more than happy to have it back on the muster/roll call log's! Welcome Home Shipmate! 5Old "Flame -Out"Well "Freddy Flame Out" Hold a special place in my heart because it was the fist model I ever built. It was 1968 and I was only 7 at the time. It was so hard to build I needed help from my Father. It still needs work when you mate the parts together. The model is not quite as detailed as the RevelED Roth ones. But with a little modeler putty you can bring out more detail and fill in the gaps where they don't fit so well and that is half of the fun building the model. My opinion is bias because of sentimental reasons, that's why it got 5 stars. If I were to give it a true model evaluation with out my sentiment it would only rate 3 stars for quality and detail. But hey it is a good price and I was so happy to find it and re build it once more!! 5
