    DisappointedI bought two of these hand held for my grandsons who enjoyed mine when they visited. I ordered them each one and was surprised at the $12. cost but inflation and all,I understood. Upon receiving it, I was pleased to have found them (shopped everywhere for them) with out screen touch feature and enjoyed giving them to the boys. After using it while visiting them I realized the quality was nothing like the hand held 2002 Hasbro model I had paid $5. for at Walgreens a few years ago. The casing is red and gold and the buttons you could actually feel. My youngest had constantly played with it for 3 hours and it died. We had to reset the back. Glad to see they still exist but the quality is not the same. 3Surprisingly Addictiveokay so I'm a computer geek who admittedly is addicted to high tech games, fantasy worlds,slaying dragons,etc.I bought this game for my neice thinking to divert her attention on the occasion when I babysit.Imagine my surprise when I myself became addicted to it (yes I had to order another one for her...er me (sheepish grin).I highly recommend this one. I take it everywhere when I have to wait and wait...auto shop, doctors office, yes even in a long checkout line at the grocery store (you can turn off the sound..I'm not *that* anti-social).Anyway, you wont regret your purchase. 5EnjoyableElectronic Handheld Yahtzee Game by Milton Bradley -Something to keep in mind about this game;The only objective is to beat the high score. This is designed for one person. While you could play against someone else, it would not work like a regular Yahtzee game. One person would have to play a complete game, then the second person, and then compare scores.The game seems to be well made. The display is easy to read and the buttons are easy to work. Anyone who likes Yahtzee should like this game.My only complaint is that the sounds are a bit loud and irritating. Other people, especially kids, may not think so. Fortunately, the sound can be turned off. 4Best Model ever made!! CAUTION Read my whole reviewThe unit shown on this page is not the same as the 7 others of this game I have owned and which I reviewed below. I have never seen this color version of Yahtzee on any web site before. The only version I have seen anywhere is the 'Gold' version and that is the version I reviewed.I would not pay the price stated here $44.79 as with shipping it is almost 3 times the price I have ever paid for one unit not including shipping. I bought most of my units locally at a price between $15-$18 and know that if you enjoy the game you will wear the game out. I bought one of my current 2 units here on Amazon in May of 2008 for $18.00.There are other makes of the Electronic Hand-Held Yahtzee Games for sale here on Amazon. I would suggest you check them out before paying the $44.79 asked here. The final choice is yours.This is my original review for the Gold version and it still stands.Electronic Hand-Held Yahtzee Game by Hasbro being the model shown(golden in color) is by far the best model ever made. The newer ones by Milton Bradley are cheap and poorly made. Buy this model before they are all gone and it is worth the 'New' price. Yahtzee electronic is a fast and fun game. Can you beat my top score of 602??? I know one female who beat me with a 618 score. Outstanding. 5So much fun!!!The display graphics for this game are top notch. Very easy to read and to play. It is EXACTLY like real Yahtzee but without worrying about keeping score. The unit also tells you how much your score would be for each requirement. It's so much fun, even my airline pilot husband couldn't put it down! I would like it to have a case of some kind. I have a feeling it may not take the bumps and bruises of travel very well. I'll find out soon. Worth the price! 5Yahtzee ContestsMy daughter received two of these hand-held games for Christmas and between her and a cousin came up with Yahtzee contests to see who could get higher scores every game play. The game is not only easy to play, a great education for those learning adding and counting, but can entertain a pre-teen for hours. I'm sure the inventors were thinking mostly of solitaire play, but the cousins really put the games to use in competition against each other. 5best ever yahtzee gameI love my new yahtzee game. I had another one for over five years and it wore out. Yep, that's how much I used it. I then purchased a pocket sized yahtzee game and was not pleased with it. So on the hunt again thanks to Amazon I found and purchased a larger size and it works great and the scoreboard is large enough to see without straining the eyes. 5Nothing but kudos for AmazonThis item was purchased as a gift for a grandson who is addicted to the game. The game arrived in a timely fashion, was just as pictured in the ad and worked perfectly right out of the box. If anything, Amazon appears to understate it's case. Everything was just slightly more than expected. Would not hesitate to recommend Amazon to anyone. 5Good value gameWe have owned several handheld Yahtzee games over the years. They all tend to wear or break over time, but that's not a big surprise for this price range. The is certainly great, because who doesn't enjoy Yahtzee? They have changed the buttons a bit from their previous models in both orientation and type (used to be more of a rubber material instead of plastic). I like the newer design (thinner, white, shiny plastic).As for the quality, everything appears to be in very good shape. One month into owning the handheld, pushing one or two of the buttons would cause the screen to dim or go off. Amazon was quick to replace it, as always. I think it was a rare defect and wouldn't expect it to happen again. Excellent game, especially for travel. Recommended! 4FUN & Addictive !This is a fun, easy game to use. It's lightweight, the game fits easily into your hand. It doesn't have an on/off feature, but it does have a "sleep mode" where after 30 seconds it shuts itself off, even if you were in the middle of a game and had to temporarily leave it, once you press the "ROLL" button, it picks up where you left off. You can turn the sound on and off, which makes it nice in case you are playing in a waiting room or on an airplane. It would be neat if it had a backlight, but other than that, im hooked, its fun and stores the highest score too. If you are debating whether to get it, go for it, its not that expensive, and its lots of fun ! 5
