Customer Reviews

MUST HAVE FOR DUCKS!I have 4 Indian Runner ducks & 2 jumbo Pekins. My ducks finally started to lay eggs, how I found out? I went out to the duck greenhouse in the morning to fund my ducks covered in yolk! They laid thier first egg & ate the entire thing. Did some research to find out- If ducks get a taste for raw eggs, they will literally lay thier egg, then turn around & eat it! I bought these eggs to have in thier greenhouse for them to try to break & eventually get bored with it. IT WORKED! The second I threw 3 white eggs on the straw, one of my huge goose tried to bite it in half! She messed with it for about 5 min, then lost interest. I ordered 2 packages. Random colors, usually pretty even amount of each.(*They look and feel like a real chicken egg, even the weight feels the same as a real one. You could pray someone and put them in thier egg cartridge & watch them try to crack that egg!! Haha!*) I haven't seen yolk on my ducks or geese since using these. I highly recommend to fellow duck owners! Our entire flock is all female, they are strictly pets & for thier delicious alkaline eggs. Do your research on the health benefits of eating ducks eggs compared to chicken eggs. Duck eggs are actually good for you! Very happy with my purchase and will definitely be recommending wooden eggs to any duck owners! I posted a pic of duck egg size comparison. Hope this helps someone as much as they've helped us! Jesus is Lord! 5Not what is pictured. Not good for hensI purchased these as encouragement eggs for my hens. Their laying had been disrupted by a snake eating their eggs, so I thought I would effectively kill two birds so to speak. I had purchased the more expensive ceramic eggs on here, and one egg I had less than 24 hours, as a snake took it for real. I figured I would go broke buying fake eggs, so I opted for these.First of all, the shipping was weird. I put the order in, and it said I would get it in about a week or so. Then when I went to check on it, it said I might get it in a month and a half. That s fine if they are upfront about shipping time, which they weren t. I couldn t cancel it at this point. The eggs are not the color in the photo. They are crazy colors. I didn t care for my purposes, but I would be very angry if I was decorating with these. Especially the orange one! These aren t really egg shaped. There is no pointed end. These eggs are heavy, unlike the ceramic ones. The chickens have twice kicked these eggs and broken other eggs in the nest.Snakes didn t think they were real. Maybe it s because they are significantly bigger than real eggs. Snake bypassed all of the fake eggs for the real ones. These eggs didn t serve my purposes. 2Hard to tell which is real and which is the fake egg!I purchased these to put them in the laying box of my coop. One or more of my hens had begun to develop a taste for fresh eggs and either I try to determine which hen(s) it was and cull them from the flock, or I try to dissuade them from pecking at the eggs. I put these in and immediately I could see that several of my hens tried to peck at them, but to no avail. The would push them out of the nesting box, but I would put them right back in. They pretty much have stopped trying to eat their eggs. Once in a while I'll find an egg pecked open, but for the most part, these did the trick in stopping them from egg pecking. 5Convincing Fake EggsBuyer beware... They look so real if you have them on display your customers will try to buy them. Frankly this has been the only problem we've had with the Fake wooden eggs. Can't keep the customers from trying to purchase them. You see we sell our excess eggs at a local farmers market in Arizona and with 100+ temperatures we don't like leaving the eggs out. So hence the fake wooden eggs. It's actually been rather funny but I think we are going to have to fix the egg carton to a piece of board or something just to keep the customers from trying to purchase them.In any case pretty convincing eggs. 5Uhhh, not what I expected!I was disappointed when I opened the package and it did not come as pictured (2 brown, 2 green and 2 blue), but it does say colors ship randomly so it s to be expected. The reason for the one star??? The eggs have been used and 5 of the 6 have real chicken poo on them! Oh no you did not just charge me to send me this?? Say it isn t so! 1Fantastic Eggs - 10 starsThese are high quality fake eggs. They helped my chickens start to lay their eggs in their nesting box instead of in a flower pot. I've had these eggs in the nesting boxes for a few months now and they are still as good as new. This is not imply that chicken poop does not stick to them. Just that after all this time, they do not show signs of wear. No color has come off. Even after I've rubbed them on the grass in an attempt to remove some stuck on chicken poop. I strongly recommend them to anyone looking for fake eggs.Dec. 16, 2018I normally do not add to my reviews once posted. However, I feel compelled to provide an update based on my experience. And that is that the quality of these eggs is superb. These have been in continuous use in my nesting boxes since August. During this time, the chickens have moved them from one box to another. I've rubbed them on the grass, or other hard surface at times to remove some stuck on dried chicken poop and the color has not come off. Thus to me, this goes to show the quality of the product. 5Awesome Product! These are wonderful! They look life like! I had to mark them to make sure I didn't take them out of the nesting box when I collected the eggs. They definitely encourage laying. We started getting more eggs shortly after we placed them in the box. 5Make great dummy eggs for pullets AND snakes!I bought these as dummy eggs, not only to help my pullets learn where to lay, but to get rid of a pesky snake that kept eating all my broody hens eggs! I put these out and about a week later we had a dead snake. I don't care what anyone says, snakes can and will mistakenly eat these if they have been eating your eggs on a regular basis, and it will more than likely kill them! As far as a dummy egg to get your hens to lay where you want them to, these do the trick wonderfully. I had bought some of those plastic dummy eggs, but the hens throw them out of the nest and if you drop them they usually crack. The hens do not toss these out and they usually wind up laying in whatever nest I put one or two of these even if it is a nest no one EVER lays in. No problems with the paint on these and they have been wet, pooped on, rolled around on asphalt, and still look brand new. I have accidentally gathered these a few times while getting the eggs and didn't notice until I put them in the sink to wash them, it can be hard to tell the difference at times. The colors are a bit different than a natural egg, but are close enough that in low light they can be mistaken for a real one, but in daylight you can easily tell which is the fake egg. Thankfully the hens and snakes cant. 5Not good for realistic decorationIf I had purchased these for decoration, I d be disappointed. In the pictures, the eggs look like natural egg colors, but the ones I received are bright green, bright orange, and white- not realistic at all. The white ones have orange paint on them and the two not pictured had paint chipping off - those two are currently in my nesting boxes. They work perfectly fine for my use, but if you re wanting natural looking eggs for non Easter decor, these are not a good option. 3COLORS NOT ACCURATE. SELLER DOES NOT REPLY TO EMAIL.Like others (who I now see on the reviews), I am disappointed that the colors are not as shown. I contacted the seller, but Amazon replied and stated that the seller's email is no longer working. (WHAT?) I'll bet the seller's Accounts Receivable is working. I have attached the photo of what you will receive if you order. The lighting makes it appear more subdued, but believe me and other reviewers -- it is bright orange and bright green. For me it is not worth chasing down, but I will not order again, and if you are looking for the colors they show, the only accurate color is white. 1
