Customer Reviews

Probably the simplest game I've ever played.Super simple, super fast auction game. The game consists of two phases. In the first phase players bid to win property cards with numerical values on them. In the second phase players play these property cards to win cards with monetary values on them. The player with the most money at the end of both phases wins. There's not much to this game at all but it does play in about 15 minutes and presents players with a couple of decisions to make. My plays with this game so far have both been with 3 and I've heard and can see how this would be more interesting with the full complement of 6. 3Experimental Economics: The GameThis game is very simple and very, very fun. The rules are simple (it takes about 2 minutes to read them all out loud) and each game only lasts 10 minutes or so, but you will catch yourself saying "One more game" a dozen times before you put it up.The game also has a lot of educational value to it as well. I use this game to demonstrate supply and demand to students I tutor. Each game is what experimental economics refers to as a double auction, the interesting part is that you play as both a buyer and a seller. trying to maximize your profit and out earn the other players. The cards and coin pieces are really durable. So is the box. I've been using the same one for a while now, I just bought another one to keep at home as well as at university. The only downside is the price. For the few components there are the price is a bit steep but still more than worth it to play this game. 4A GREAT "FILLER" GAMEI've played this just a couple of times since I got it, but it is very quick and fun. A good game to have in your "filler game" repertoire. You can easily finish a game in 5-10 minutes. 5Fun & EasyFun Game. Easy to learn with one round. Has some strategy elements of cards like bidding strategy in poker and the advantage of remembering what has already been played. 4Fast Fun gamePurchased because I saw a you-tube video listing it as a game everyone should have and since I had most of their other recommendations, I decided to try this one -- love it 5Tons of Fun, Well Made Game, Box is a Little BigWe've played this with 3-6 players and it is a fun game with a lot of replay value. You get to learn a bit about people's playing style and while there is an element of luck to the game, a lot of it is based on your skill and reading how the other players will act.The gist of the game is in round one, you have piles of cash and you are bidding for properties - in round two, you sell the properties to the bank, and at the end of the game count up how much cash you have. You want to big carefully so you get the most bang for your buck, and hopefully your competitors overpay. The cards are well made with fun illustrations.Games are quick 10-30 minutes each depending on how much you and your friends like to talk while you are playing. One thing to note is that while it is a card game, due to the small pieces and multiple rounds and keeping track of things, I would be hesitant to take this game out on travel and in your backpack. I prefer to sit around a proper table and play where you can "hide" your cards, your cash, etc more easily. 5Quick, bidding based game! Great for all skill levels!I bought this board game because I was looking for a fun, simple game that could be played with more than 4 players. This board game met those criteria. The concept of the game is simple and relies on a mixture of strategy and luck. This is a great game for playing with people of different ages and skill levels as it can be enjoyable for all.At the start of this game players are given coins which they can use to buy properties which range in value.Players use coins to bid against each other in order to win the highest value properties. The bidding occurs in a circular order where you must outbid the previous players bid or take the lowest value property currently on the table. The bidding has a strategic element in which if you already placed a bid and decide not to up the bid on your next turn you must still give half of your bid (rounded up) to the bank while simultaneously taking the lowest value property. This is all done during round one.In round two those property cards are sold in an attempt to earn more money than other players. The player with the most money wins. The game takes about 10-15 minutes to play.Visually the game is appealing. The cards depict different properties, with higher value cards showing more extravagant properties and vice versa. The box was smaller than anticipated and is about the size of a box of crackers, however this does not take away from the enjoyment of the game. 5This is a very quick game to learn and to play, but you will play it many times and look forward to teaching it to others. This is my 6th copy of the game I have bought, and the third for my family. It's a great game. Too bad it is currently out of print!! Why the third copy for my family? Because one went to school and stayed there because it is a great game to teach kids about money and economic principles. One was taken by a chunk of our family who loved the game. The other three copies I had intentionally bought as gifts for folks who begged for the game after playing it.I was introduced to this game by my gaming group and we play 2-3 rounds of this game almost every time we get together. It's practically our warm up game. 5funSimple game to learn, but quite fun to play. The game has an open auction phase, followed by a blind auction phase. Good for older kids 10+ to adult, the younger kids have difficulty valuing their bids during the auctions. 5Great fillerSuch a great game. Since there are two rounds of play it adds more thought than may be initially thought about it and is a quick moving fun game. 5
