Customer Reviews

GOOD CONCEPT, POOR DESIGNMy family loves the traditional Farkle game so I thought this version might be a fun twist on it. The concept is good - one of the six dice that are used for a Farkle round is pre-rolled, and each player must build off that one. The great part is that everyone can play at the same time instead of having to wait for each player to roll until your turn. The bad part is the contraption is completely unnecessary and faulty. the dice popper gets stuck a lot, and I don't get the purpose of putting the dice on the ladder. If you want to play this version of Farkle, I'd skip setting up of the ladders and just use the dice popper. Or I suppose you can use a traditional Farkle game and just pre-roll one of the dice before each round. 3sometimes the top roller gets stuck. you can't get ...sometimes the top roller gets stuck. you can't get the risers off once you attach them. so you have to store it outside the box since it can't be disassembled. 3good game, minor issueGreat game for the family. We have a lot of fun with it. My only gripe is the center bubble gets stuck all the time, and has been that way ever since we got it. 3Fun group gameWe played this with 4 teams of 2 people each. It was a lot of fun hearing everyone panic to get the right dice in place before the other teams. Fast passed and fun. 5Great family game!I picked this up on a whim for my kids, and it has become our favorite family game night game! It's a bit complicated to learn, keep those instructions in hand for the first few games! My kiddos are 6 & 8, and they got the hang of it by the second game. My only complaint is that it's super hard to disassemble for storage. The triangular supports on the side of the tower are supposed to slide off, but they get stuck. I've launched them across the room several times trying to take them off, and gave myself a pretty nasty scratch once. We have limited storage space, so leaving it together and out of the box isn't really an option, and I'm afraid one of these nights I'm going to break it. Other than that, I'm very happy with this purchase. 4Original Farkle still favoriteWe really enjoy the original Farkle game and decided to try this version. The idea of the popper is a good addition, ours doesn't work that well though. It takes a long time to pop up and sometimes get stuck. After playing the first time we decided to use the popper to make the game a little different, but decided to still go one at a time instead of all players playing at once. I guess we are just bigger fans of the original! 3Arrived BrokenGreat game. We bought after playing at a friend s house. Unfortunately our set is broken. The clear top part where the universal die is doesn t pop. I wanted to replace with a new set but my return window is closed. I guess we ll just throw the top piece around to get the die locked inside to roll. Disappointed. 1Farkled!We love playing farkle at our house, have changed the rules numerous times to make it either more challenging or less, depending on the group. The "frenzy" version lets more players toss the dice at the same time, making it a little noisy but FUN! I would highly recommend this game for anyone familiar with being "farkled!' who is looking for a great time beyond the usual one player at a time farkle. 5Christmas GiftChristmas Gift 5Very good family gameMy 6 yr old son played this game elsewhere & since then, really wanted it. So he received it for his birthday, from me, mom. I wasn't too excited to get it because I know it's one of those games where you need a big pad of paper, & everyone's score has to be written down & added up after every roll of the die, how much of a pain is that? Well my son received the game on his 7 birthday, and both hubbie & I, & almost 5 yr old brother sat down to play. I had never played before. VERY confusing at first to figure out how to score with the die. Even w/ the little cheat sheets every player gets right in front of their faces, still not easy .This is because there are so many ways /combinations to score points. Then we had to go around each player to figure out their points, add them up, record them on paper, and total those new figures to see who was in the lead. The winner is the first to reach 10,000 points. That's right, 10,000 points. We decided the winner would only have to reach 7,000 points.(hubbie had a limited amount of time that day.) Four yr old beat out everyone that first game, he was thrilled.Only gave it 3 stars for durability because the plastic bubble you depress that pops up one of the die got stuck the very first time we used it. Annoying yes, you bet, but not bothered enough to exchange it, even though past experience with Amazon with this sort of thing has always been awesome. This game is ages 8 & up. So both kids needed help with tallying scores/points. We knew that going in. But I personally usually purchase games this way, to stretch their thinking skills and challenge them in a fun, loving atmosphere. Once we got the hang of it both hubbie and I were suprised that we actually enjoyed the game. This game is very good for adding up sums, very pleased with that. So, yes, I am quite surprised that ALL of us enjoyed this game. It will be easier when youngest child has the math skills, but when possible, we try to play games as a family. GREAT way to sneak in math and sharpen addition skills. The way I see it is $$ spent on games for family time is an excellent investment in that family, and it's children. Fun family game. Happy I made the purchase.UPDATEOur popper was never quite working right, so Amazon sent me a new game super fast. But that popper didn't work at all! So next I called the manufacturer (Patch- their # is right on the game's box). I was stunned to find myself immediately talking to a REAL KNOWLEDGEABLE PERSON who was really concerned and wanted the 2 malfunctioning poppers back to see what the problem was, and she IMMEDIATELY sent me a new working popper plus a spare, just for my troubles. As for returning the parts Patch wanted back, UPS picked them up AT MY HOUSE & I paid no return shipping!! I cannot begin to say how impressed I am with this EXTREMELY caring company. And Patch told me they even read Amazon's reveiws on their products because they are so concerned with their consumers feedback. Thank you Lisa at Patch! :) You guys rock! 5
