Customer Reviews

Bust for Trucks - Double Triple Check your RC clearence before purchasing!! Not as advertised ...If you have a RC Truck - I would Not purchase. Seller states "Ideal for 1/8, 1/10 and 1/12 RC cars, trucks and buggies." Which is not true, at least in my case. My 1/10 Traxxas Truck should have worked but this stand just sits under it, barely touching chassis. Features also state the stand it is 4.25 inches high - when mine measures 3 3/8 on two different tapes. So unless you are going to take wheels off and leave them off ... this stand is worthless for trucks in my opinion. Additionally, the bottom of the stand is straight plastic - so it slips around on whatever surface you have ... unless you are putting it down on carpet. It was a total bust for me! Tried to return, but seller doesn't do Prime Returns - so I'd have to pay for it. Checked into rates for shipping and it more than half of original price paid. So it's going to my friend's son, who has a 1/24 mini RC ... hopefully it'll fit that at least. 1Does the job but could use a few improvementsI bought this to use with a 1/8 Arrma Kraton and ultimately it works but it has a few shortfalls. Firstly the stand itself when assembled could probably be a tad bit higher, with my wheels on the Kraton all 4 tires only sit off the table surface maybe quarter of an inch, it's really best to work on car while wheels are OFF for this size of car. Secondly as others have said, it would be nice if there was some kind of way to lock it all together when not in use, such as plastic lock tabs. Currently when you put the riser shaft in it's spot and sandwich the two pieces together, there isn't anything keeping them together. Lastly the bottom of the base needs to have rubber feet in the corners, or at least large enough flat areas where you can stick rubber feet if you like so the base actually grips. Sometimes with full weight of car on this, when you rotate the car the base rotates with it. 3I agree, needs a large rubber bandThis thing is cheap and great. Swings around 360 degrees with ease. Has a little tray to put your tools and screws while working on something, just awesome. I'm deducting a star because or short-sightedness on behalf of the manufacturer. They go and put 4 holes on the stand itself with 4 pegs on the base. These line up perfect for storage.....BUT NOTHING TO RETAIN THEM TOGETHER. So when you toss it into your bag or box it just comes apart with easy and then you had a heavy metal rod banging around your gear (bad). Get a large rubber band and you're solid. 4Flimsy, all plastic, not worth the money.Honestly not impressed in the slightest. In fact, I find it hard to believe that all these reviews are so positive. It's pure plastic except for the little metal bar that holds the stand up from the base. What isn't shown here is how low the stand is. If I had my wheels on any of my RC MT's the stand would not do anything. The thing is flimsy as heck. I can put about one pound of pressure on any side of the stand and it feels like it is going to come apart.Maybe this should be advertised as a 1/12th or smaller scale work stand, because anything larger and it will not work well at all. A plastic box and a $1 lazy Susan would work better. 2It's OK - not impressedDoes it hold your car up while working on it? Yes. Does it rotate? Yes. Has it broken yet? No.Not super impressed with the overall experience using this car stand so it has now been replaced with one of the simple aluminum stands with the rubber feet and foam strips. I found that my cars slid around on this stand, wobbled a little bit, and found that I'd use the stand for a few things and then it would seem cumbersome so I would just move it off the workbench. Nice that it has storage for screws/parts but that is a problem easily solved by any kind of parts tray. Overall impression = It's OK. Last car stand I'll buy - absolutely not. Would I recommend? No. There are better car stands out there. 3Pit techWorks perfectly my slash 4x4 lcg rc truck is sitting on it now! Spins, tilts, slots for screws and whatever else you need! 5Well worth it, but could use some things to be perfect. For the price it is totally worth it, in fact this one is my second.Pro's - Plain and simply it works and does its job. It is not black so if you drop a screw in the parts tray you can actually see it. They also make one in orange BTW. Also considering how much gets spent on the cars themselves and the parts, the $15 for this is nothing and saves a bit of the frustration, so well worth it.Things that could be better: A bit more weight in the base unit, while this is not really needed it would just make me feel better when putting a heavy RC car on it like my 1/8 scale Duratrax 835, or that matter one of the super light cars. A slightly larger top plate where it has some holes for placing things like screwdrivers for quick access. Having some optional parts might be cool too, like different height or stackable center posts so you can raise it up higher to work on in locations where 5" may not be enough, also a drop in magnetic tray adapter would be nice to have. 4A good standThe stand is of a decent quality. Simple to assemble and disassemble for use, especially if you need to transport it. I removed one star simply because it isn't very great with a narrow chassis, like what you would find with a rock crawler. My crawler cannot utilize the built in rubber padding on the platform to keep it in place while working. A quick addition of some rubber padding fixed that for the most part. It's best suited for a wider, flat chassis as you would find with a road car or buggy. The tray is convenient for small parts you are disassembling and the holes in the platform do work OK for shock rebuilds. For the money, it's worth it. 4great price, great productWorks great...fits fine with redcat shockwave 5Well worth the money even though its plasticVery nice for what it does, hold my 1/8th scale buggy no problem, makes it so much easier to work on these heavier larger RC vehicles. I use a large rubber band to hold it all together once I am through with it and store it away. 5
