Customer Reviews

Pattern and piece shape/cutting method make this puzzle VERY difficult; my mom gave upI was so excited when I found this puzzle for my mom as a Christ,as gift. The challenging pattern and odd piece shape (and cutting method), however, make this a very difficult puzzle even for puzzle pros. The really problematic part is that it is often difficult to tell whether two pieces actually fit together. My mom, who has been doing puzzles for decades, worked on it for several weeks... and then I helped for a couple of afternoons... then we finally gave up (with less than half of the puzzle complete). She has never given up on a puzzle before. Perhaps if it had been only 500 pieces instead of 1000 we would have completed it. 2Prepare to have no social lifeI'm currently working on this now with my family. I could do 100 piece puzzles no problem growing up. This on the other hand...I don't even think my late grandmother would be able to solve it. (My currently still living grandmother wants to throw it back into the box). I bought this as a birthday gift for myself about three years ago and since starting it, getting the border (which is apparently missing a piece) and tardis mainly done, it has been hiding under my bed ever since. I separated the colors (which is harder than it sounds) and even that didn't help. I was about fifteen or so when I bought this and never read the reviews...I should've. I probably would've just bought the poster. My plan was to glue it and hang it up before I graduate...that's slowly becoming a less reachable goal. Good luck to everyone who is brave enough to attempt this beast. 3there are some weird and wonderful pieces. The subject matter made the puzzle very ...This puzzle was a challenge! The pieces are not your average puzzle pieces, there are some weird and wonderful pieces. The subject matter made the puzzle very challenging, but it was lots of fun! The pieces are nice and thick and good quality. 5Great for multi-taskersI'm a writer, painter, crafter, and avid movie watcher. This puzzle is perfect for when I get burnt out on one thing after a couple hours. I'll drop the paintbrush and head to the card table for some puzzling. Then back to the canvas, or to the computer to knock out a chapter in my novel, or perhaps to the craft room to work on some other project. Also, if you're like me and can't stand to just sit and watch a movie; if you have to be doing something at the same time, this puzzle is perfect. It keeps you occupied while the characters on screen are going about their shenanigans, and it's challenging enough to take a while to complete. I'm about four hours into this puzzle and i've got the border and small parts of the Tardis completed only.Fantastic puzzle, especially for a huge Whovian like myself. 5Challenging and gorgeous puzzleI bought this puzzle for my boyfriend for Christmas. It shipped on time and arrived on time. My boyfriend LOVES puzzles. He can do 1,000 piece puzzle in a weekend. This puzzle has given him a bit of trouble and he loves it. It is so challenging because of the colors and the shape. It took him a whole afternoon and evening to get the boarder done when he would normally be halfway through the puzzle. If you or someone you know likes hard puzzles, they will love this one. My boyfriend is a Dr. Who fan, but you don't have to be a Dr. Who fan to appreciate this hard puzzle! 5Love difficult puzzles? This one is for you.We ordered this puzzle for my 14 year old daughter and it was really very difficult. It took us a great bit of time. The pieces are non standard shapes so sometimes it was difficult to discern which pieces were the edge pieces, or in spots where one regular sort of piece might fit, there would sometimes be 2 strange little pieces. It took us an entire month to put together. The puzzle might be too difficult for younger kids or less experienced/determined puzzle makers. It arrived quickly and in good condition. 5AwesomeThis is an awesome puzzle but wicked hard. I worked on it for about 8 hours and barely made a dent! Do the border first (obviously) and then start with the exploding TARDIS in the center. That seems to be the best way. This is one puzzle that you need to leave set up on a table tucked away in a corner, so you can work on it in stages. It's gorgeous though and just like the painting. Perfect for Doctor Who fans. 5The hardest puzzle we've ever solvedWhoever designed this puzzle is either a certified genius, or an authentic whacko. No two pieces look even remotely alike and none of them fit together the way you'd think they should. If Doctor Seuss had made puzzles instead of writing books, this would be that puzzle. 5Bring lots of tea - It will be a whileBlimey! This puzzle was a BEAST! Took over my coffee table for a MONTH! There's very little aside from the TARDIS windows and some very subtle color groupings to work with here -the rest is maddeningly abstract and the pieces are all very similar in shape (unlike the Daleks & Flames one, which has lots of odd cuts). Probably the only thing more challenging than Vinny's take on Old Blue would be a Jackson Pollock :PAnyway, I stuck with it, and now it looks gorgeous hanging in a frame over my computer desk :) 5Not the hardest we've ever done, but close. This is NOT for every fan of Doctor Who! It IS for fans who have jigsaw puzzle experience and great patience. We have put together many puzzles in our time and the only puzzle we have ever done that was harder was a 1000 piece puzzle that wasn't interlocking and had no picture (an antique). This took a month of steady work by the two of us. No two pieces are alike in color and content but they are so similar it's maddening. The various shapes and sizes make it impossible to put a piece in the wrong place. A big plus. (We had one like that once.) The picture is much too small and lacks detail. Areas that look black are not but have many subtle color differences. Before we put it away for another day, we will take several high resolution, well lit photos, print them out and put them in the box. Otherwise, I doubt we'd ever do it again. It is a great picture. There should be be a print suitable for framing. Good luck! 4
