    Cute but can't hold thingsWe love Calico Critters but were disappointed to find that these Chocolate Labradors have closed hands and are thus unable to hold things like toothbrushes, forks, mugs, etc. unlike the previous 8 families that we have bought over the years which have open hands and are able to hold these types of things. We are afraid the closed hands might be a new design for the critters as we recently purchased the Cuddle Bear Family which also has closed hands. It's much more fun to have the Critters hold things so we hope the company will go back to making them with open hands. 4Calico Crack Critters - can't have just one.Calico Crack Critters is what they need to rename these. You..must..have..more...cuteness! My six year old watches people opening and playing with these on YouTube Kids. And she wants them all. I must confess that I find them absolutely adorable myself. I *may* have been playing with them too. The detail on these dolls is really nice - their little ears and puffy tails. Darling clothes. Glasses! Adorbs! I picked these up along with the main rabbit family and their twin babies. They are NOT cheap. Like $60 later I had an extended family of 8. With all the darling houses and cars and shops and furniture...yeah. Daddy needs a night job to pay for our new addiction.I love these and so does my daughter. But they are really pricey. I am cutting corners by purchasing the Calico dolls, but getting the Woodzeez shops and furniture - they are the same size and are just as cute, but at about 1/3 the cost. 5Falling in love with Calico Critters is all in the detail.I was skeptical at first when my then 9 year old daughter told me she wanted these tiny fuzzy little creatures, I thought "another made in china piece of junk toy". But I agreed to buy "Just one", we got home and she started showing me all the detail in the characters, so amazing. Incredible work, and thought into each piece. Side note, love the fact that they noted these are animals they wouldn't be eating a beef burger...it's all veggie :) and this Mom loves that...I am a Vegetarian. Needless to say we are now up to a mansion, 4 families, a nursery, furniture of 4 rooms and still growing. She gave up her Barbie's and Barbie house to have these little creatures and this Mom couldn't be happier. Thank you! 5Adorable!!Gave these to my daughter for her 4th birthday to go along with her other calico critters and the special diy house I made for them. These are the cutest critters we've bought so far!She loves the baby critters so I specifically bought these because it comes with a baby. Actually, I wasn't sure if there were two babies or one baby and a little sister. Turns out there is one baby that comes sitting in a sling on the mother's back, and then there is an older koala sister who is bigger than the babies but smaller than the regular size kids critters. They're all so, so cute!! I wish I had these as a child.Very well made and if you choose to do so you can easily remove their clothes (which are also excellent quality.)The only thing that bugs me slightly is the baby. This is one of the babies that does not stand up. Her legs and arms are permanently stuck in their position. The baby's head is able to turn from side to side but that's it. Not a big deal but I personally prefer the babies who can sit or stand. 5Toys to last a lifetimeWho doesn't love a Calico Critter? These were purchased as a gift for my daughter for Christmas so we haven't played with them yet but they appear to be the same quality as if there were made a few years ago. (I just found one in a box from my childhood and pretty good condition). The clothing is detailed and super cute. Each critter is covered with that "peach fuzz" the Calico Critters are known for. These will last forever so although they may be more expensive to start with the quality of the Critters allows them to be played with and well loved for many years.Item was shipped with other items and arrived without damage.PS: Have you tried shopping smile.amazon.com? People don t really wear things like that now.I d say a con is that the brushes are pretty difficult to get them to hold. They also do not balance to stand up well (because of their hair?). Even so, I still gotta love that fluffy hair! I also love how this family is in a family band (if you read about the characters). To be honest, they also do not sit easily. I like to make stop motion videos with them and this is a little time consuming.One more thing, be very careful or their noses will rub off.Even so, if you take good care of them I think you will like them. They are not my favorite Calico Critter family but I like them. 4Even Cuter in Person, Very Well Made, Just Awesome!We love these little figures. This was the first time we had ever bought Calico Critters anything, so I was a little hesitant because of the price. Overall I am so glad that we went ahead and ordered them. They are so Cute, and Very well made. When I first received them in the mail I was struck with how awesomely gorgeous they were. I felt like I had chosen the cutest family currently available.*The tails are made of soft fabric. The tails do not affect the dolls at all, they are still able to stand and sit.*Their heads arms and legs are all pose-able, and they are very sturdy made dolls. You could probably pull the arms out, but you would have to really pull on them hard. They do not come apart easily.* The clothes are very well made, high quality, pretty colors, I was surprised by how nicely made they were, given how tiny they are.* The fuzz/flocking/felting is also very sturdy. It does not scratch off easily either.-The only thing I wish was different, I wish there were four members...this set does not have two siblings, or a baby. Other families have four members. However, the price is also lower on average for this set as compared to the other four member families.I would buy these again. I would buy as a gift, I would recommend to others, and I will buy more of the other families in the future.With this family , we also purchased the Calico Critters Seaside Cruiser Houseboat Toy.The kids play with both of these all the time! 5Cute, cute, cute !!Cute, cute, cute !We bought these Calico Critters, their house, car, and little bunny friends for out grand-daughters to play with when they are visiting our house.They REALLY love them. I think the Calico Critters set are their FAVORITE toys. They love them sooo much, that when it is time to put away the toys, all the toys go in the toy box and closet EXCEPT the Calico Critters. These have a special place on the fireplace hearth.The Calico Critters are the very first toys our grand-daughter go to every time they come to visit. 5So Adorable....My Eight Year Old Loves Them!My eight year old was introduced to the Calico Critters collection by her Occupational Therapist and ever since then has begged me to purchase them for her. I must say, they are the most adorable little toys I've seen in a long time.Here's what my eight year old said about her new toys.1. They're cute because they are so tiny. (they can literally fit in the palm of your hands).2. They're soft. (these cute little critters have a furry texture.)3. You Can Dress And Undress Them. (the Calico Critters tiny clothing are removable and my little one thinks thats awesome since she likes to give them 'pretend baths'.)4. They're Animals. (my youngster has a love for animals but she's allergic so this is the closest to owning an animal she can get.)5. I Can Put Them In My Pocket. (these adorable little toys are the perfect size for carrying around in a space as small as your pockets.)6. They Are So Colorful. (and she's right...the bright colors of all these critters are so fun and vibrant.)7. They Make Me Happy. (these toys are just so adorable that they bring an automatic smile to your face.)Now, from my point of view, when my kids are happy then I'm happy. My only problem is that for such tiny toys, it does seem that they are a little pricey. So in the future, I'll be on the lookout for these when the price is reduced. 5They're adorable and well made but they need to put dog repellent in themWhy does my daughter love calico critters so much? I'm not sure she just does. Unfortunately so do my 2 stupid dogs. Let me tell you those idiots can have a calico critter naked and hairless in 3.3 seconds. They must put something in them that smells like steak to dogs, because the dogs will ferret them out like nobody's business. I've lost about 9 of these little critters in the last 2 years. But I keep buying them because my daughter loves them (and yes she should pick her toys up off the floor and I told her so).They are just adorable and very well made as with all calico critters. You have to get the twins to go along with because they're just so dang cute. 5
