Customer Reviews

Good price, but quite easy to get clothes dirtyMy 12m son refused to wear a full-on sleeved smock so I bought this to ease him in gently. It's a great price so worth the gamble. He accepted wearing it quite well -although he's quite short for his age at 28" height and this feels quite big on him.Two side ties, and one behind the neck. At the moment he is messing about with paints and crayons while sat in his high chair, so he isn't making any use of the pocket. But because of the big gaps down the sides, my son still found it easy to get his messy fingers all over his clothes. But the smock washes well, though, and air-dries really quickly.I think this would be better for slightly older children, which is good as my son will grow into it. 3Almost perfectOverall this is a great smock because it does protect clothes. It fits my 2.5 year old and should fit for a couple more years. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it doesn't have any ties or velcro on the side so it tends to hang down when they lean forward to paint and the smock sometimes falls into wet paint if I'm not there to hold it up. I may actually attach some velcro strips on the sides to fix this problem because otherwise it's perfect. I'd still buy more because they're inexpensive and I don't have to worry about clothing during our art adventures now. 4Good Quality but SmallThis smock is a great deal for the price. The only problem is that it will only be effective for pretty young children. It is about the same size as the Bumkins junior bib. This smock will probably fit 1-3 year olds. One of the good things about this smock is that it covers the back as well, so if your kid wipes their hands on the back of their clothes it will save their clothes. There is no way to keep the smock on (such as ties or velcro) except gravity. The neck hole is generously sized thanks to the cut in it and as an adult I can fit my head into it. The quality is surprisingly good for the price and is a good buy if your child is small enough for the smock to be effective. 4Great for crafty kids!I bought this for my daughter to wear while she is making crafts and painting, which she has recently discovered she loves doing. The plastic is thin and light-weight, but it holds up well against the abuse she has presented it with.Glitter, glue, acrylic paints...those are common for her in her crafting and painting canvases. It isn't long, so I would recommend it for kids who are able to at least control their art supplies some, instead of carelessly slopping it around. For the price, it can't be beat. 5Not as shown. Is a "My First" Art Smock. Not as shown. No closure ties and no pockets, and of lesser importance, it is a polka dot pattern instead of ice cream cones. Also titled "My First Crayola Art Smock."With no ties, It just hangs open on the sides and can easily rotate around. It does fit fine over my 4-year and 2-year old's big heads, and covers their shirts just fine, but I will need to add side ties to keep it from flapping around. 3No ties, no pockets, but a good basic smock - I would buy again! This is a nice basic smock and the picture is accurate but the product listing is not. There are no pockets. And although the product listing says it ties at the top and sides, it does not. There are no ties. It is a full front, full back (with no sides) that goes over the head. If the product description was accurate I would rate the smock I received as five stars. For the price it really is a good deal. This fits my 2.5 yr old (29lbs) just fine and I believe it will probably fit her for at least a year probably much longer. It does a pretty good job at covering her clothes and wipes off easily. It is not long sleeve so you will still need to roll up sleeves. We do most of our painting and crafts sitting - it wouldn't cover her pants entirely but I still think it would work just fine standing up. I've not had a need to wash it in the washing machine because a baby wipe takes off the washable paint with no issue. It's thick and waterproof enough that paint spills will not seep through. As long as you realize you are not getting pockets or ties - I would definitely recommend and re-purchase.**Update 8/13/16**We've been using this for 8 months now so I wanted to update that it did do fine in the washing machine (I hung to dry). Also, we now do most of our crafts standing up at the easel and I find that this protects her clothes okay but there are times that I wish it had sleeves because even a short sleeve shirt pokes out on the sides and now that she's 3 she's a little more animated when she paints and I worry a little more about the clothes. I also think ties would be nice to keep it from shifting around on her. I almost knocked it down to 3 starts but honestly for the price you really can't beat this. Ties and sleeves would be nice, but nice enough that I am actually going to buy another smock. We'll keep using this one until she outgrows it. 4Impressed!This is really cute and helps protect clothing. My daughter is 4 but fits into a 6 or 7. It covers her front but not the sides well. However, if paint drips, this smock does catch it on the front. It is also wide enough to put over her head. To clean it I used wiped it off since I am using water colors.I knew for the price it would not be much but I am rather impressed with the quality of the smock. It is worth having one around for painting and craft projects. 5Should have read the reviews firstThis should clearly be stated as "My First Art Smock" which is what it is...it's for babies and toddlers. I was buying it as a school art smock for a third grader! It would look like a bib on him! I will have to find a baby somewhere and donate this.... 1Keep them EVERYWHEREI can't say enough good things about these. Our now three year old was a messy eater the first couple years. I would keep one of these at my parents home, our kitchen, our backpack, art supplies bucket, etc. When she was eating she would wear it. Or when she was painting. They're extremely easy to clean (when you clean it the same day, if you wait to long it gets nasty, but it's cheap to replace).I love that even paint just wipes right off.The texture isn't the comfiest, but it is far from uncomfortable. It's honestly just perfect. You literally take it off of them, then rinse in the sink, and we like to hang it on the oven's hand towel rack/handle to dry. You'll save a ton of clothes! Also, who cares if you think it's embarrassing to wear one of these at a restaurant. (I know someone reading this is thinking that ) it'd be more embarrassing to have a super messy kid. I really love to keep their clothes clean, which worked out great since our second kid turned out to be a girl too. So we were able to reuse all the clothes! And thanks to these smocks we didn't have to toss out hardly any clothes due to stains. 5FABRIC Rectangle with a head holeThis is not at all what I was expecting. I purchased this with my 1 year old in mind. My 3 year old already has a plastic/vinyl short sleeved art smock -- Which is perfect for painting, since paint wipes right off. This art smock is FABRIC and DOES NOT HAVE SLEEVES! Really is an oblong rectangle with a head hole in it. And made from a slippery fabric. Which I am sure will wash just fine. But for my super messing 1 year old this would not have done the trick at all. Currently this will be what my 3 year old uses to paint with, but I was def expecting something with a more "old vinyl tablecloth" type fabric. And for the price, I would not buy this again. 3
