    Torn, Pant Legs Sewn Backwards!Awful. It was made horribly. One of the boot tops was sewn on backwards. I had to cut and resow. The inner part of the pants was torn on one side, so I had to sow back together. The top part was packaged so badly that even after laying it out for 2 days it was crinkled and I could not make it stray straight. Where the boot tops were sewn the stitching was very tight.For the money it was simply not even OK. I would have gladly paid more if I knew that I would not get something broken that I had to resow! 1This did well for the role. The material may ...This did well for the role. The material may deteriorate if kepted in a hot attic or shed. Very thin and poorly sewn. Typical quality for kids costumes. 4Affordabity, Ease of useSize medium was a perfect for my 7 year old son who is 51", and of slendor build. Important points to consider. Three main pieces to the costume... 1. red tunic, which is the shirt of the costume made of a light weight material. It was cold Halloween night so my son wore a black sweatshirt underneath and the tunic still fit well.... 2. Black pants, comfortable material and the "boot" is attached to the pant. My son did not like this feature, though it certainly is easier that way for me, the pant/boot is made with a strap at the bottom meant to slide under a shoe to keep it in place. Trouble is the strap kept slipping off the back of his sneakers when he walked. Which meant he had to keep fixing it as he walked from house to house. Not fun for him. A simple solution is to wear a heeled shoe (like dress shoe/work boot). 3. The armor piece over the red tunic, simply slips over the tunic and ties together on either side of the torso and then your Gladiators ready! I thought the price was fair for the quality.Would recommend it keeping mind my son does not wear this costume frequently so I cannot attest to how the quality stands up to hard core playtime.Enjoy 4Good costume for the priceThe quality wasn't spectacular, but at the price, i didn't expect much. The gown for underneath was huge compared to the rest of the costume, but ultimately it looked great with our family costumes! 4Great Greek/Roman Warrior CostumeAs a frequent buyer from Amazon, I rely heavily on reviews (and appreciate them). This item I purchased with NO reviews, other than the review for the "Large" one. I have an 8 year old boy, that is very tall, and the medium fits him nicely, he is 70 lbs about 4'7/4'8 I fear the large would have been too large. The quality is great. I like that the leggings are attached to the boots, so you don't have to worry about the boots falling down. Very nice quality. The tunic is separate (red), the pants/boots, and the third piece is the armour, which ties under the arms. We're using this for an Alexander the Great costume to complete his biography of him. 5Rubie's Costume Co.'s Kids Gladiator costume is a great valueWe needed two costumes that were simple to put together, relatively inexpensive and, most importantly, instantly recognizable by adults and children without being too scary. Our sons were invited to a costume birthday party the week before Halloween, a `Trunk or Treat' event at our church the weekend before Halloween, and, finally, they visited residents of assisted living homes and did some light trick-or-treating around the neighborhood and my office on Halloween itself.The gladiator costume was much more durable than I had anticipated. I appreciated that the costume allowed my son complete freedom of movement as well.Thankfully, both costumes were as easy to assemble as they were to remove. I posted a picture of their completed costumes on this page.SIDE NOTES:My eight-year old son, Kou, was enthralled with the The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall, a celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, which was simulcast live worldwide on Oct 2, 2011.And while his older brother Kai has not yet watched Russell Crowe's performance in Gladiator, he is learning about the Roman Empire in school, thus his interest in a gladiator costume. We chose not to equip him with a prop sword or knife though, as it is difficult for a 10-year old not to whack something or someone once he's equipped.In summary, I recommend Rubie's Costume Company and, specifically, their Kids Gladiator costume as a great value.Rating: Four stars. 5Costume works great for large dog.Purchased for my 80 lb bull dog. Perfect fit. Hard to find matching family costumes for a large dog so normally buy kids. So glad i did. 5Poor craftsmanshipWhen we received the costume my grandson tried it on. One of the legs were actually sewn on backwards! My daughter ripped it apart at the seams and sewed it on correctly. So fortunate to have the tools needed to fix this. I would not purchase this again 1It's an inexpensive costume, that 's what you get. Don't set your expectations too highThe costume is cheaply made which was expected for the price the top piece is foam which was disappointing to my son h,e was hoping it was a leathery type of fabric.but that is not why I gave it a low score. I gave it a low score because one of the ties on the side that hold the top piece on is missing. It had never been sown on. I called to tell the company. They were very nice and said they would send out a replacement. It should take about 10 business days. That was about a month ago I have not seen a replacement. 2Great looking costume for 5-8 year oldGreat looking costume. I ordered it for my son (5) and he loved it. I have been on a Spartacus kick as of lately so I have been running around saying "I AM SPARTACUS" and my son kept hearing me say it. He asked me who Spartacus was and I told him all about the Gladiators and how they fought in Roman Times. So when Halloween rolled around he already knew who he wanted to be. Lol My son isn't that big, he is 46 inches tall with a thin build, probably around 50 pounds. This costume (size small) could fit someone a bit bigger than him nicely but it looks great on my son as well.Hope this helps 5
