    Good buyVery well made for the cost of it. Works very well also. Bought two of them as christmass presents for two college kids. Now almost a year later both are still being used and work. Only thing I was told is sometimes they chew up the M&M's but I'm guess they just need to be adjusted to handle them. They also work great with mike n Ike's. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is the glass is kinda thin. If dropped or you over tighten the top it will break. Other than that, no complaints. 4Bad serviceWell made item real glass but I recieved a defective one i believe. My machine will spin multiple times after coin is inserted and not dispense any gum. The customer service is subpar slow response and limited options seems like they could care less. My suggestion on purchase is I believe most will work but dont depend on seller if it doesnt. 1Great gumball machine my kids loveGreat gumball machine my kids love. Best thing about it is that it accepts all coins so you don't have to worry about a coin getting stuck because it's too big/small like previous machines we have purchased. 5Incentive for good behaviorMy kids LOVE this thing, and so do I. I haven t tried the trick to getting a free spin but it s worked fine with quarters. (My kids earn quarters with little chores I m going to hold off on letting them know this thing would take pennies...)Anyway, the reviews are true the glass is pretty thin. Mine broke, but it was totally my fault. I was trying to get the quarters out of the bottom, but was having trouble because the hole is a great size for quarters (which we ve just established was all that was in there) to slide past. So, being the creative thinker that I am, I decided to, duh, shake the machine. I channeled a bit too much of my inner Lenny apparently because the glass broke. On the bright side, it didn t shatter. A piece (the size of about TWO quarters) broke off cleanly. I have yet to call about a replacement piece, but it sounds like they re just as expensive as the machine. So for now, I m using some good ol packing tape. Kids don t seem to mind they just want what they came for. 5Disappointingly smallBummed that the shoot holder is so small. If you intend on putting anything else other than gum balls in here beware that it is very hard to get out. Especially if you have large hands. I purchased this for work to hold my M&M's because I was tired of some of my co-workers banging the spoon on my ceramic dish. I didn't want it to get broken so I figured this would be a great option. Only now my M&M's might get stale because no one is coming to get any because they have such a hard time getting them out. 4This is a very high quality unit, far better than what you'll find in the stores.Don't be misled by products in your local Wal-mart or department store that appear to be similar, but at a much lower cost. There are significant differences:1) Those have a plastic base and this unit has a metal base2) Those have loose, plastic gearing and mechanicals and this unit has tight metal mechanicals3) Those have a thin plexiglass "globe" and this unit has a glass globeThe difference when you hold them in your hand is substantial. This thing feels very close to a commercial-grade gumball machine one that feels as though it will last for years and dispense many, many gumballs. Those, though cheaper, feel like toys and you wonder whether they'll even manage to dispense one full globe of gumballs before failing.There's no contest. Get this one. 5Great Classroom PurchaseI filled it with pencil top erasers! Totally works! I had to set it to the smallest dispensing size which was easy enough with a phillips head screwdriver. Sometimes it drops more than one eraser, but its rare. Overall very fun classroom edition and my students love it. Now they are funding the purchase of additional classroom supplies. Two thumbs up! 5Great purchaseMy 11 yr old is an avid gum chewer so I ordered this for him for Christmas. The product arrived unscathed, it's very nice quality. The glass globe is thin and could break if handled rough but i'd expect most globes are about the same thickness. It does come with an instruction sheet and diagram of the parts which is useful. It's base is very solid and heavy and it's bright red in color. It was put to use immediately and though the gum we ordered was smaller in diameter then the typical size the machine works just fine. The crank is a bit hard to turn with it being so new, but it's not a problem for my kid. I would, with how it works and all, say that this would be a machine for 10+ years old, or with supervision with younger kids. Filling the machine isn't as easy for younger children and takes a delicate hand to remove the top. All and all I can see this product lasting near a lifetime if the components are as well put together as I think. It's a solid unit and absolutely worth the price. If I com across problems in the future i'll amend my review. 5Keeps my Grandson busy I got more than I bargained for. Grandson(3YO) likes it so much he snuck into a piggybank to keep coming back with more coins until I stopped him. Then he found out that if you keep turning the knob back and forth after a few times you get another single M&M free and he then spends his time getting M&Ms one at a time. 5it's not especially easy to set it to "free spin" mode (which is ...I bought one to keep M&Ms at my office desk - who doesn't need some emergency chocolate? It's extremely cute, very old-school bubblegum machine design. There are two reasons I'm taking off a star: it's not especially easy to set it to "free spin" mode (which is to say, I haven't figured out how to do it) -- I just keep a little pile of pennies next to the machine, so it's not a huge deal, but it would have been nice... and if you put larger-sized (peanut M&M/peanut butter M&M) candies in there, it really limits how many pop out in a single turn (2-3), even if you set the dispenser to the maximum aperture. The mechanism also crushed some of the softer peanut butter M&Ms. I now keep a combination of peanut and regular M&Ms in there, and it seems to have optimized the dispensation. (Dang, this is a nerdy-sounding review.) Suffice it to say, it's a really nice little machine, and while it's not quite perfect, I liked it enough to buy another one as a gift later! 4
