Great game for kids and adults, very easy to learn, nota lot of reading, so even kids who do not like to read can enjoy and win. 5Easy to teach - Easy to Play - a Hit with non-gamer relatives.Roll for It is a simple dice game that is fun to play with people who don't like to play complicated games. I love boardgames, and have about 60 of them so far in my collection . When I take games to family gatherings it is difficult to convince my relatives to play. The game has to be simple enough for them to understand in less than 2 minutes. I tried to get them to play King of Tokyo (too complicated for them), Bang the Dice game (far to complex for them), and even Spyfall (over their heads), so most of the time we end up playing my brother's Liar's Dice (a game I loathe) simply because everybody can understand the rules. So I have in my collection of games ones that I think are super easy to teach. The card game No-Thanks, the Dice game STRIKE, and now Roll For It all have gone over great at family functions. Its an easy "filler" to play when my more "gamey" friends come over for game night too. The concept is super simple - Watch the "Watch it Played" episode of Roll for It on Youtube to get a good understanding of how to play. It's really easy to teach and fun to chuck some dice. Is it complex? Hardly. Does it rely on luck more than strategy - yes, but that's what my non-gamer family likes. Not too much strategy but fun playing a quick 15 minute game. 4Light dice game for all ages, but overpricedI liked the idea of a light dice rolling game to play with all levels of the family. A quick couple rounds after dinner or before bed. This game does fit the bill, but my general feeling is that is overpriced.The deluxe edition tin the game comes in is very nice, but small. Not much extra room beyond the deck of cards (see pic). I found this to be a problem when trying to use the included bag to store the dice and then putting all the components back in the tin. Doesn t work, you will need to store the dice flat as it was shipped to you.Speaking of the dice, they are tiny. Don t get me wrong they are usable and the variation in colors is nice, but see my attached pic vs a standard size dice. The green dice came with Even Steven s Odd! Another light dice rolling game (not the greatest comparison, but that game costs less than half of this game). That game focuses more on math skills and is head to head vs turn based as roll for it .Overall I think this is a nice game, the artwork on the cards vs the standard roll for it games drove me to this edition. However, based on my assessment of the components I believe this game should be priced in the $18 - $20 range. 3While we like this game alrightWhile we like this game alright, it doesn't get pulled out as much as some of our other dice games. It seems that our games go either of 2 ways: 1) the game is over super quickly because it's too easy to get the cards to win or 2) no one is rolling what they need to gain the card so we are all staring at each other and rolling one die forever. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground.The dice are nice and colorful, although quite tiny.It just seems like we get bored with this game. It's nice to have in our rotation and it's a nice game to play while having dinner/conversation as it doesn't need a whole lot of thinking or planning.The case is nice as well. It's very light-weight, I was able to teach it in a couple of minutes to a non-gaming friend. It's lightweight, and can take it anywhere. The only thing I wish is that the dice were bigger because they are tiny and easy to lose. Of course, that would necessitate having a bigger box (which I'd be fine with). I also wish that it came in a cardboard box, or really any other kind of a container other than a tin -- tins have too much of a tendency to open up in the case that I use to carry my games in, and I just KNOW one of these days I'm going to lose things.If you want a game with deep strategy, this is not it. But if you want a casual dice-rolling game that anyone of any age can play, this will serve that purpose. 4Perfectly designed game for quick, casual, no-stress play!For one of the simplest games you could ever play, the replay value is incredible. Anytime I have friends over, we will eventually end up playing at least one round of Roll for It. The simplistic nature of rolling dice and matching them up to pictures of dice on a card is somehow extremely satisfying, especially after you have just played an intense game like like Pandemic. In general, it takes anywhere from 20-40 minutes to play this game. The more people you have, the closer you will get to the 40 minute mark. The Deluxe edition is great because it gives you eight sets of dice and the cards have beautiful designs on them, as you see in the products pictures. Some people might say the game is overpriced, but take a look at what it would cost to purchase eight sets of different colored dice and a deck of cards (hint: it will be way over the cost of this game). This game is perfect for a family to play together after dinner, or a group of friends to play while drinking. Old, young--it doesn't matter. My 55 year old mother loved to play Yahtzee, but after we played this game, she won't even think about Yahtzee! Roll for It is definitely one purchase you won't regret!! 5Tension EnsuesThis is a simple game my four year old plays with me. It's that easy. On your turn you roll six dice then look at the cards out on the table. They'll have two pair, or a full house, or six of a kind, or 2 threes and a one. Random combinations. If your die roll has all that appears on a card, great, take it and chalk up the number of points on the card. First to 40 wins.The fun begins when you don't have the required dice. You commit the dice that match to the card you hope to wrap up in subsequent turns. That means you slide your dice forward next to the card and leave them there, not rolling them the next turn. You can commit to multiple cards. And tension ensues when more than one person has dice committed on the same card. Who will get the die rolls needed first?Now we have a house rule that if you don't commit any dice, you can change one to what you would like it to be. This keeps people from accomplishing nothing multiple turns in a row. A bitter pill for 4 and 39 year olds to swallow.Why only four stars? While my six year old likes to get a game of this in with me before I leave for work in the morning (yes, it's very tender), I do like a little more depth to my games, and I don't like when luck can keep you from progressing indefinitely. Who likes that? Raise your hands. Be proud! 4Great Game for Socializing & TravelingI saw this game on Wil Wheaton's TableTop (poor Jason Ritter) and had to buy it!I played this game with my husband a few times before packing it into my carry-on for a 9-day cruise with his parents, brother, brother's gf, cousin, cousin's bf, aunt, and uncle. This game was a life saver! We ended up in a horrible, grungy hotel the night before the cruise and this game took our minds off of the decrepit surroundings. Plus, the game comes in a small-ish and well-protected tin case that I decided to carry with me everywhere we went (you know, just in case I had need to Roll For It).On the cruise, during sea days or before dinner time, we got the entire family playing the game while overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and enjoying cocktails. The game is very easy to teach and everyone was able to socialize and have fun while playing. After the cruise, several family members texted me for the game information so that they could order it for themselves.The artwork on the cards is beautiful, my only recommendation would be to make the color more distinct between the bronze and gold framed cards. The velvet bag is good quality and handy for storage. The fit of the dice-filled velvet bag in the tin is a little tight. You have to flatten the dice into a single plane to be able to close the lid all the way. The dice are nice, all in good condition, no pip defects. Also, these are small dice, not your standard Yahtzee sized dice, so keep that in mind (it surprised me when I opened the game). Otherwise, I love it! It s a nice, casual, light-weight game. 5Easy, Fun, and Family FriendlyNot to get sappy or anything, but this is the game that my now BF and I played on our first date, so I could be a little biased towards it.This game is super easy to learn, it's fun, and it's not completely time consuming. This is easily something little kids who can identify numbers on dice and cards can play, since it's similar to a matching game. Plus, it's fun for adults too. It's a game that can be played with a lot of focus, or as a fun activity to enjoy while you chat and chill. Plus, it's great to bring along on vacations; the tin the game is held in is small and easily carried along in even a purse, or the corner of your suitcase. I ver much recommend this game for people of all ages! 5
