Customer Reviews

A lot of funShoots quite a distance, which I wasn't expecting. Nice quality for a toy nerf gun. Be sure you yell "Prepare to be boarded!" before you shoot. It makes the dart fly farther. 5Cheap, flimsy, DON'T BUY AS GIFT!I was extremely disappointed in the quality of this product, especially for the price! We thought it would be decent looking but it looks like we bought it at the $ store. I didn't want to give it as a gift (as initially planned for a kid who is a major pirate and gun fan) so we kept it and bought him a different gift. 2AwesomeFinally there's a dart gun that is old-fashioned. All the other Buzz Bee guns are very futuristic and this flintlock pistol great for those who prefer antique-style. Shoots pretty far but very inaccurate and nothing on the barrel to help aiming, which is like the real thing 5Item arrived in good condition. 1st time buying such a product to ...Item arrived in good condition. 1st time buying such a product to add to my son's collection for his Assassin's Creed costume. The pull-back trigger feels and looks flimsy. However, the overall look and use entertained my son and he's keeping it by his bedside since he got it. 4Sturdy and very accurate lookingThe side facing out in the picture above looks great. The opposite side looks like it was completely forgotten about. 5Yo ho ho, and a bunch of old darts.Alright. if you are looking for a costume prop, there are way better looking options than this. The brown plastic has no texture or paint/print application to simulate wood, it is simply smooth shiny plastic. And the hammer is too short when compared to the frizzen and powder pan. It also feels a little small in my hands, so if you are a fair sized adult, find a larger prop. It is a good size for kids, but as realism goes, these things were generally around .50 caliber and it does not look the size.If you are looking for a foam dart blaster, I do not recommend it. It workes "fairly well" for a BuzzBee. I actually enjoyed playing with it. But for $10 or less, you can get a much better blaster from Nerf. I recommend a Bigshock, Jolt, or Doubleshot. The priming hammer was finicky, if you didn't gently guide it back to the primed position, it would snap forward quickly and discharge the plunger without even touching the trigger. As for range, it's terrible, but it's a cheap BuzzBee blaster, so I wasn't expecting much out of it. If you want to get a couple of these for duels at 10 or 20 paces, you might want to do the duels at 5-7 paces. So, I edited this review, because when I first wrote it, I thought it had broken.I host foam wars at events and have about 100 blasters in my current collection, so I am used to having to fix them. I opened this up to find the problem. Could not find the problem. I thought it was the O-ring, but it turns out it was the darts! This blaster is from 2007, and the foam in the darts has deteriorated while sitting on the shelf. After they have been fired a few times, the foam tears and then the air just escapes through the tear. I didn t realize this until I had taken the blaster apart and reassembled it several times trying to figure out what was wrong. When on a whim, I just fired it with some new Nerf elite darts, and it worked fine. Now, if you are not terribly concerned about a performance foam blaster, and just want a pirate gun that shoots darts. It s not that bad really. There are some simple modifications you can do to make it better. The first being: a stronger spring for the catch lever so that it doesn t miss-fire during the priming action. Another easy modification is to ad another spring inside the main spring in the plunger assembly. As for aesthetic modifications, I would highly recommend sanding down the brown, and scoring it with a knife or Dremel to ad a bit of wood texture. And then giving the entire blaster a better paint job. 3Perfect for a wanna-be pirate!Neat little toy. I got it to go with a pirate costume and glad I did! Clearly a toy though, not an over abundance of detail to it. Also, it doesn't shoot darts very far at all (maybe 20 yards or so) so if you are looking to take this to your next nerf battle, you'll be disappointed. But the size of it is true to a real one, and the detail is enough to pass for a costume! I ended up getting a bit of model paint and some sandpaper to scuff if up a bit to make mine look a tad more believable, just for the shear fun of it :) 4Winner!My 7 yo son got this with some Christmas money and it is a winner! We got it with the extra suction bullets. It does not feel cheap at all and we all fight over who will play with it (adults included). The suction caps stick great to glass. 5It'll kill the Deep Ones deader than a door nailAs a pirate in the Sargasso Sea, I frequently need me a trusty sidearm to fight off the deep ones. And as any salty dog kens, them's as invulnerable to lead or steel. But it just so happens that they be possessed of a terrible fierce allergy to foam-rubber, what does render them screechin' and flappin about on the deck like a halibut! This here trusty flintlock fulfills me need to fill them fish-men from the deep with the agony of foam, while maintainin me proper piratical look. It arrived in the nick o' time too, and shot me dead a particularly slimey bastard up outta down below. I gives it a full five "Aaaarrrrs!" 5SmilesBrought a smile to the face of my dying son. He's sharing a long standing joke with a friend and lightening the atmosphere. 5
