I have yet to see any tear and wear, the dice that came with it are awesome, and it's quiet enough that if there are two games going on in the same room (we use it for Settlers of Catan), the group without the cup is jealous! Also, it solves the "I don't want to roll into a box" problem very well. 55 Stars for the cup, 1 Star for the diceThis Dice Cup is very well built, nice quality and study. My wife and I use it to play "10,000" and "Yahtzee" very often and the cup is still looks like the day I purchased it (December 2013). Black leathery-looking material on the outside (well sawn) and red felt on the inside. Cup feels good when I shake even large casino dice inside. This makes you get a feel for how large the cup is.HOWEVER, the dice that come with it are very small, light, with round edges. Do not like them at all but for $5 - $10 dollars, I'm sure you can find better dice out there.In conclusion, this is an excellent purchase for the dice cup alone. Worth every penny of the $10 I paid. Worth the original $20 it goes for too! 4The Game's Afoot!Large enough for any size dice we have (and we have some pretty large gaming dice). It's well-made, and the felt lining makes shaking the dice around far more quiet. The mouth is also large enough that I often like to simply flip the cup over and 'land' the dice in a small circle so they don't go dancing across the board. Very happy with this product. 5Nice and quiet! Cup's a little big, dice are "ehh"Pros: Cup quality is nice. A couple reviewers mention about the felt peeling away, and while I only just got it and used it once or twice, I checked it with my finger nails and it seems nice and tight. It's even rolled over real nicely, and again, looks and feels tightly glued. Quiet dice rolling - yea!! No more brain-jarring, clang-clang-clang when playing Yahtzee in that original, unlined plastic cup that came with the game. Finally, after all these years, peace and harmony when playing - yippeee!!!Cons: Cup diameter is rather large. Worth noting, however, that it's no larger than any other felt lined cups I see on here so, I don't really have a better option so am keeping this one. Got used to my old Yahtzee cup which was probably 2-1/2" round (this one's 3"), and just liked how that smaller size felt in my hand - amazing how much that silly 1/2" makes. Dice are el-cheapo's. I mean really, a bunch of the numbers have the spots not completely filled in and, well, all 3 of our family agreed that it was distracting during the whole game. I'm keeping the cup but going right back out and finding me some better dice.Summary:Worth the purchase for the cup alone, unless you can find a felt lined cup that is less than 3" in diameter by 1/4 - 1/2". And buy for the cup, not for the dice. That way, if you're like me and don't like the dice, you won't be disappointed. 3Cheap, and effective.This is a great little cup, with great hand-feel, and a perfect size. it actually feels surprisingly sturdy, given the price, and the soft interior mutes most of the noise. Combined with a nice dice tray, it makes for a peacefully quiet experience; great for when you have someone close by sleeping. I don't use the packaged dice, so I can't speak for them, but they seem like standard D6s with clear pips. 5Dice Cup...for BuncoLooks more like leather than I thought it would. The seams are nicely done. The lining is nice, and baffles the sound well. Actually nicer than I thought it would be. The dice seem ok, but I don't know much about dice. I bought this to play Bunco, and the group has their own dice. With the colds and flu season coming, I wanted to cut down handling what 23 other women were handling as much as possible. This seemed the least offensive way to do so. I did add a few good luck symbols, in silver marker, to the bottom and by the seam. Also sprinkled a little essential Lavender oil inside. No one will use this except me, and I wanted to personalize it a little without actually having to write my name on it. It looks pretty cool, if I do say so myself...and smells great! 4Perfect for exciting (yet quiet) dice gamesThis dice cup is of far higher quality than I expected. The outside is sturdy and thick, seems well made. The felt lining is soft and keeps the dice quiet when you shake them. My wife and I love playing Yahtzee, but that hard plastic cup was getting old real fast with the noisy clatter. I got this in combination with the round felt-lined dice tray, and it's permanently our new Yahtzee setupThe only thing to beware of is that larger dice will get crowded in this cup. The seller/shipper sent it without the packaging shown in the product image--not a big deal, just thought it worth mentioning.On the other hand, the dice shown in the picture to me look like cheap, low-end quality but the dice the seller sent in my cup are actually pretty nice for "gimmes" -- not like the ones shown here, but amber-colored, heavy, well-pipped dice...almost like precision dice.If you're serious about your dice games and are looking for the right balance between quality and price, this shaker is a good bet. 4Much Quieter than the plastic shaker cup in the gameWe play Yahtzee and the game came with an all plastic cup. After a few rounds of Yahtzee, that rattling starts to wear on the ears and brain. This cup solved that. It'd be nice if they made a flattened version that would fit in the game box, but we can manage around it.. 5
