Customer Reviews

Fun to play, unless you get out earlyThis is a great multi-player role playing game. Each player is assigned a secret role, accompanied by a secret mission, and must complete his or her mission before the other players complete their. The cards have various offensive and defensive moves, as well as special abilities to make game play fun and different each time you play. The game becomes increasingly more fun with more players, as there are more roles and it becomes more difficult to determine who is who. I would not recommend with fewer than five people, though I believe the rules say it can be played with 4-7 players. Each game takes around 45 minutes to an hour to complete. The one downside of the game is that sometimes some players are "dead" before others. Once one player is dead, they have nothing to do but sit around and wait for the other players to finish. Still, overall a fun game for grown-ups. 4A comparison of the card and dice gamesAs a huge fan of the Bang! card game, I recently purchased and started playing the dice game, so I thought I'd shed some light on the differences. Both games are amazing and a lot of fun, but one or the other might be better-suited for your gaming needs:The Card Game- harder to learn. I've had a lot of friends be confused / borderline frustrated learning their first game of Bang- longer games = more investment, more replayability. Prepare to budget up to an hour for a game.- more options & slower turns = more strategy. If you like games that you have to think about, the card game is better for this.- hidden hands / cards = more intrigue, harder to guess people's roles because you can't tell what their options are. If you like the hidden identity aspect, you'll probably prefer the card game. The Dice Game: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DH8D0HC/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00DH8D0HC&linkCode=as2&tag=todmedblo-20&linkId=2CY5MW6IPBTU7JGQ- easier to learn, BY FAR. There aren't a hundred different cards to explain, there's just six possible dice rolls.- shorter games = great for parties, not great for regular gamers. You don't have to ask people to commit to a full hour, dice games generally only take 15 minutes or so. Because of that, don't expect to play this dozens of times with the same friends, it's just not as replayable.- fewer options & faster turns = easier to keep people's attention. Again, great for parties.- public dice roles = less intrigue, since people's strategies are pretty obvious. There's also a bigger chance component thanks to the dice rolls, so there's more excitement in the moment (and more shared excitement, since everyone is watching the rolling). In conclusion, if you're looking for a game to dive into with the same group of thoughtful friends, you're better off with the card game. The dice game is better for parties where people don't want to learn new complicated rules, and families with younger children w/shorter attention spans.I hope you found this helpful! 4Fun party game for lots of playersBang is a great party game...if you have 5 or more people playing. In my experience, it's quick and kind of lame with smaller numbers of people. I like that the cards are in Spanish and English. It's pretty quick and easy to teach multiple new players at once, as well. 4They did a bang up job!My son was begging for this game for months, and now that we have it, I can see why. With a nice balance between luck, strategy, and bluff, this game has a lot of replay value. The different elements of the game are also balanced well so that you are able to use strategy and not be stuck with a predictable outcome. That is unless you have a Sheriff who likes to play with dynamite, but hopefully my kids will learn that lesson soon! While you can play with as few as four players, it's better with more (the maximum is seven). We have played with ages 7-adult. A word of caution about younger players: because the primary language used on the cards is not English (although the English is on each card) they do need to be confident independent readers, and you may want to familiarize them with the different cards and symbols before playing.Because Bang! is already a favorite game, I was glad to see that the game components are of a good quality. We're going to be playing this for years to come. 5Fun game. The kids love the different characters and ...Fun game. The kids love the different characters and abilities and every body loves the different guns. If guns make you skittish, this might not be the game for you. But if you don't mind your kids getting excited about a Winchester rifle, this game is really well designed and fun to play. Turn based, with some actions being on you, or directed to one or all players. Strategy involved as your actions could give away whether you are an outlaw. Lots of fun, usually doesn't take forever. 5Fun and simple game slightly hampered by high player requirements and player elimination.Bang! is a fun little game based on the Wild West. Players each have a hidden role: the Sheriff, who must kill the Outlaws; the Outlaws, who must kill the Sheriff; the Deputy, who helps the Sheriff; and the Renegade, who is against everyone! This creates opportunities for a lot of intrigue and strategy as everyone tries to figure out who everyone else is. The rules are very simple and easy to learn, you play cards to perform actions like shooting people, dodging their bullets, or equipping better pistols. The role mechanic does have a flaw, however. The primary difficulty with this game is the high player requirements: you need a minimum of four people to play, and it really shines with a full 6 or 7. It also has player elimination, which can lead to boredom and frustration if somebody gets knocked out early and has to sit around waiting for everyone else. It's a good game to play with something else on in the background, like a movie or TV show that they can watch while they wait, or at a large gathering where people can drop in and out. 4Super fun gameFantastic game! I bought it to play in my college dorm and we have made a game night out of it. The game itself has several character cards including; sheriff, deputy, outlaw, and renegade, most of whom want to shoot (bang) each-other. There are several cards that a player can play during their turn including the favorites; beer (gain a life), bang (shoot someone), missed (avoid getting shot), guns (can shoot other players), and several other cards. This box includes many name cards that give special skills such as pick a heart and don't get shot, these cards can be used as life trackers rather than using the place mats. It is somewhat difficult to learn at first but quickly gets easier. Games do run a bit long sometimes, up to 2 hrs, but are enjoyable the entire time. 5very not impressive gameif you had no other game at all...and you had to play it, it would be something...i guess to play. but it's honestly very hard to learn, and after we struggled through it, it was not worth it...in the dumb category.Honestly blown away at all the great reviews on this, i was really looking forward to it. Shocked...cause like it said, it's dumb, or very close to dumb. maybe the very very top of dumb, or the very very bottom of just an average game, that you'd never play, but sits in your game storage place for years and years, cause there's other games, that are fun. 1Five starsI've heard multiple time about BANG before but never got to play. I must admit, it has a lot of rules! It's best if at least one of the players has already played the game before, otherwise you'll spend a lot of time trying to decipher the rules of the game. However, once that part is done, the game is truly fun! Would totally recommend. For me, it's a great addition to my board game collection. 5Fun game!LOVE this game! Recommended for the typical hang out with the gang, and a few beers added (or not, up to you!) The cards are pretty self explanatory and there s a cheat sheet card that helps describe what some of them do. Discovered this game from a friends brother coming into town and playing it with us all and we had to buy it as a secret Santa gift to play it more! 5
