Customer Reviews

Cheap and very well detailed, excellent for a beginner!Pros: model is very easy to assemble, detail is impressive for the price, the shield is actually very maneuverable, pieces stay together very well.Cons: head turns but cannot look up, legs bend at the knee but do not have room to bend much at the hips, the model appears white but is actually almost a light Robins egg blue.Overall this is a cool cheap model excellent for you to practice detail/weathering effects shown in my photo. It s fun to assemble and great for your first build if you re new to the hobby. 5Nice kit for practice or beginner.Great beginner or practice kit. This is the second gunpla I've worked on after a 20 year hiatus. The first was the MG HI NU Gundam v2 Ver Ka. I did it and it came out great but I was looking for something simpler and inexpensive to practice on. This is that kit. Inexpensive. When I ordered it, it was less then ten bucks. Arrived relatively quickly. Day one and I have completed this much, see pics. Lost the sticker sheet so I just painted the cockpit cover black and the thrusters. Panel line and it's great. I will be purchasing more. Looks great! 5Great basic purchase for a spare-time assembly.I needed something to assemble while waiting for a 3D printing job to finish, and at $9 and free Prime shipping (as of mid-June 2014) this fit the bill perfectly. The model appears white in photos and in the animation but is really more of a pale aqua blue on the mold. There's a slightly larger degree of flexibility on this one than the HGUC Zaku II I ordered a few weeks back, particularly with a rotating/tilting torso. There are a few big parts that don't quite fit in the white-blue, those being the beam saber (as pointed out) and the back of the shield. All in all I got my money's worth. I only give 5-stars to those products that really blow me away, so this isn't a knock on the model itself. 4Another GM for the force! This kit was what I expected, nothing more, nothing less. I hadn't been looking for a big-whoopee kit, I just wanted a GM-79 that I could outfit with a spare missile launcher and light, er, beam saber I had lying around, joining my (outnumbered) collection of Feddie mobile suits. Yes, the 'white' parts on the box turned out to be more aqua (which is fine - I seem to remember Char's first glimpse of one of these under the Amazon, and it was aqua), and there were no decals (I more than made up for this with stickers from other sets, and some German WWII number decals on the shield). I was pleased that the shield mount was different (this kit is from the 0080 series, and the shield mount has been improved), and it was, on the whole, a trifle more detailed than the previous issue GM-79 I have. 4GM Mobile SuitBrought this as a gift. We were impressed by the details, and design of this kit. Now because of the front skirt, the range of the front legs is limited. the shield, and small gun are nice accessories. There's a beam saber handle to put in the back backpack. You also get a beam saber handle with the saber extended, but you have to paint it the proper red color, or a color of your choice. This is a bummer because you would think they'd make the saber part the typical separate plastic? There is no hole in the couch for an action base, so you would have to get a different type of action base for a 1/144 scale model if you want to pose this one in an aerial position. Otherwise, it stands well on it's own, and it's a great beginner kit for a small child, with adult supervision. This was given to an 8 year old, and he loves it. 4Cheap kit to practice seam line removal and painting.I give this a 5 because I believe this kit was designed for beginners like me to try a total custom paint job. The parts are separated in a way to easily color parts separately, and its a very simple kit to snap together. Also, there is motivation to custom paint this kit as there are lots of seamlines to remove as this is an older kit (also don't articulate well as modern kits) but my purpose of buying this kit was for trying out painting and it performed. 5Bandai HGUC 1/144 Scale RGM-79 GM Mobile Suit Gunda,I ve only recently gotten into the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise and the Bandai Model Kits. I had been and still am getting the fantastic Star Wars model kits Bandai has been doing. I ve built ships and their figure model kits and wanted to branch out and do more because I ve found them to be incredibly fun to build. After watching Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team I was hooked, and after building my first Gundam I knew I was hooked on these sets. I wanted to get more classic looking models from Gundam to get, as well as a bunch of the Ground Type GM s. This set is currently priced at $8 which is a steal, you cannot get many figures this day and age for that price, and if you spend some time and paint it yourself, you can make this $8 figure look like a $60 figure. This was the easiest of the few Gundam sets I ve built so far, not to many pieces to clip, 1 decal to apply and a decent amount of weapons for accessories. I just used a Gundam marker to line the panels as I built it, and then used some weathering kits from Tamiya and hit it with a flat coat to lock it all in and make it look more realistic. Yet another fun and easy build with a fantastic final product, and this RGM-79 GM is such a great design. This is an older model kit some of the articulation isn t as good as new sets but this is still fantastic and comes FULLY APPROVED. 5Must Have for gundam fans the main stay of the Federation.3 runners, A,B and PC123 and a single cockpit sticker.construction was pretty strait forward, just make sure you have a tool to remove them from runners, I used a wire cutter to remove them from the runners but anything will do even some nail clippers, sometimes when you cut out the pieces there is still some connection plastic so use a blade, (i used a utility knief super sharp) to cut and shave off excess plastic to make pieces smooth, with a sharp blade its pretty easy and you just shave off the extra pieces, follow the guide and you will have your full gm together in no time, the beam saber though is a major disappointment, its a simple piece of teal plastic, and back camera is not colored, its looks different from the instruction booklet and is unpainted look, such as back of shield, vulcan cannons, head back camera but overall a great model.i took pictures as i was working, first pic of whats in the box, then then showing me putting pieces together, then fully assembled no paint, then picture of painting beam sabers then painting back head camera, then finally of shield i went with black for shield and im not painting backpack since in anime, the backpack and in earlier gm models its plain white, im using my Jaburo Diorama as background, painting it is my next project. 5thought it was a completely differnt kitI thought I was buying the Build fighters GM.NOTE: this is mint coloured, kind of shocked me at first but I've warmed to it since. If you want something to spruce up and add some colour to a space in your house and don't mind it looking a bit tacky, it's pretty nice. I actually went all in on the tacky angle with a shelf of small toys and another classic kit (see attached pictures), namely the RX-78-2 which I recommend over this one.the poseability isn't great and if you want it to hold a sword than you better already have one because the included sword is a single piece that is mint coloured, not great.I think it's a very cute kit but overall I recommend you just get the build fighters one. 3Good ol' Jim!This was my first build and it's great if you put the time in. Really simple, just made up of 2 runners for the body, a small polycap runner, and one sticker that's very easy to place. The building itself won't take more than an hour or two just depending on how careful you take it. There's panel lining to be done but it's not a large amount and can easily be taken care of before assembly (which I recommend you do!). After that all he really requires to get to looking good is a hit of some top coat. Some cheap matte top coat spray works really well on these classic designs and will have Jim looking his best. You're left with a great looking figure with decent articulation, and overall it's a kit that you really shouldn't have much to complain about with. Highly recommend picking this one up. 5
