    I really like this tea setI really like this tea set, it's sturdy and cute! My daughter loves putting water in the tea pot and pouring it out for each of her animals, and graham crackers on the plates. We got it when she was 2, now at 3 she is much more dexterous with it and makes less of a mess. But all the parts being made from metal really helps contain messes, and keep them from being smashed when stepped on, and even nice for use in the tub. The box or "picnic basket" is made of carboard though, and definitely does not hold up as well. 4Ideal Childrens Tea SetMy 3yr old daughter loves this tea set. The set is of extremely high quality metal. I am not sure what type of metal it is, but it is done well. The finish on the set looks great and has held up well to my daughters use. The only downside to the set is the little case. It is all cardboard, to this point it is still together, i am sure we will be replacing it soon. 5VERY DISAPPOINTEDSet was very cute. I knew not to expect much from the case, from reading reviews- seems silly to have such a cheap, cardboard case, but oh well, And, cups are very small. PROBLEM is- after 2 days, the tea pot is leaking where the spout comes together with the pot. Completely unacceptable and very disappointing to see my grand-daughter upset because she can't use it anymore.Of course all packaging etc. has been thrown away, so I feel returning is not an option. I guess she can still play with the other items, but I would recommend, if your child actually wants to use the tea pot with liquid, DON'T BUY THIS SET! :( 1Don't understand any negative reviews for this charming tea set. It's perfect!I read all the reviews on this item. I was surprised at how many people criticized the small size. It's a tea set for a CHILD AND it's only $20.00. It's ok if you choose not to do your due diligence and fail to educate yourself before making an online purchase, but fer crying out loud, don't blame the seller for that. Perfectly lovely starter tea sea that could be, but was never intended to become, an heirloom. Our two and half yr. old granddaughter loves it, as do her grandfather and I. While not recommended by manufacturer, we do put tea in the pot and tea sandwiches on the plates. Washed set first of course. When granddaughter Lily turns six, she will be graduated to a large child's tea set. I already have a silver plate one waiting for her. It was $240.00. If you want a larger set, you'll not find one for this price, tin, china or silver plate. The cups hold a tablespoon and a half for tea/liquid. They actually hold two tablespoons but that would take it right to the brim. The teapot will hold one cup with room to spare at the top to avoid accidental spillage. This is perfect, non breakable with lovely, bright colors. The first thing Lily asks for when she comes to grandfather and grandmama's house is "May we have our tea party now? Pretty please?" I highly recommend this set. Competitive pricing as well. 5Don't waste your moneyAbout a year ago I ordered my first ALEX tin tea set. It is cute and durable and my grandchildren love it and have many happy tea parties with this tea set. So a few weeks ago I ordered another one for my friend's grandchildren. It is awful the cover doesn't come off the teapot and you have to put water in it through the spout AND the teapot leaks and all the tea cups leak so the tea party becomes a big mess. I should have sent it back but the kids I gave this too just suffered a huge loss and upset in their life and I couldn't take their gift away. Their Grandma said they could play with it outside or without "tea" . I was very embarrassed and disappointed because my experience with ALEX brand toys has always been good. 1Perfect For Tea Time!My daughter loves her new Tin Tea Set from Alex. She has had many fun tea parties and drank lots of tea. This set caught her eye out of the many different sets we looked at.sShe really liked the colors and designs. I like that it came with a basket so she can keep everything stored safe inside. I washed it before she 1st used it and so far no rusting so I hope that stays true. The set is a little smaller than I expected but still great for my 4 yr old. Definitely recommend this and cheers to many fun tea parties ahead. 5At first the set was everything we hoped forWe purchased this cute little tea set for my daughter for Christmas (2015) hoping it would replace the plastic set she had (a few pieces were broken or lost) and it has a storage box. The little tea tray was also a great selling point. At first the set was everything we hoped for.Here's what we liked: (+3 stars)- The tea pot and cups are the perfect size.- My daughter loves the colors (and they are easy to find).- The cups are metal so they "clink" when she plays tea.But we've encountered a few issues: (-2 stars)- The box is not nearly sturdy enough for typical toddler play. Within a few weeks the pretty design paper had started to rip loose and the bottom was weakened.- The little tea tray bends very easily and it doesn't bend back to it's original shape.We probably wouldn't purchase this set again because we bought it mainly for the storage box and tray. The price point is pretty high considering they are both lacking in durability. 3It s a perfect size for her little hands and it s durableWe got this for my daughter s second birthday and she adores it. It s a perfect size for her little hands and it s durable. She sometimes walks throughout the house, holding the saucer under her cup and sipping water. (note, because the entire set is tin, we only use cold water hot water would heat the handle!). It s easy to clean/dry and very durable. She s dropped the cups numerous times and, aside from a clattering sound (followed by oopsie! ), they haven t taken a dent.The colors haven t faded, even for the dishes she left in the sun. I haven t seen any sign of rust or tarnish or what-have-you. We ve only had it for 6 months, but it gets daily use! I d recommend this to anyone who asked. 5Not worth the money, leaks everywhereI bought this set as a Christmas gift from Santa for my 4yr old since she loves having tea parties. I loved the vibrant colors, the carrying case and the overall size of the set. However upon our first tea party I noticed water everywhere and I just assumed my 4yr old had spilled without me knowing. I cleaned up and it happened again. So we cleaned up and had another tea party the following day. Again the same thing had happened, water everywhere, except this time my daughter had not even sat down with me yet. I picked up the tea cups and they all heavily drip water. I then picked up the teapot and that leaks as well, not small amounts either. So if you plan on purchasing for fake tea parties then this would be fine but if purchasing to place any kind of liquid in it then keep on looking because now I have to purchase another set for her. 1A very nice but small tea set.Big box, TINY tea set. My son loves it, but it's about the right size for a large doll, rather than for a toddler. However, excluding the size complaint, this was a cute set with a nice box.Update: A year later, my son still plays with this set way more than any of his other dishes! 5
