The Aggregat 4 (better known as the V-2 rocket) was the first man made object ever to reach space on 3rd October 1942. Wernher von Braun and his team of developers built the V2 by order of the German Army and the National Socialist leadership of Germany. However, from the beginning the team had set their sights on reaching outer space. The von Braun team achieved the dream of flying to the stars in 1969 through developing the Saturn V Rocket which carried the first man to the moon.
