    A bit smallI bought this for my son's 4th birthday. It has an adjustable fitting piece inside so you can tighten it down to smaller heads. I set it on one of the largest settings and it did not fit his head. Granted, he DOES have a bigger-than-average skull, but still, if this is supposed to be ages 3+, I'm not sure how a 6-7 year old could wear it. I took the fitting piece out entirely and it sits on his head just fine. I'll probably add some foam padding to make it snug and comfortable.Otherwise the quality is great. 3Terribly disappointed.The helmet I received did not match the product description. It is not adjustable and it does not have the hook on the back. Without the adjustable piece, it is sized for an adult head - way too big for my toddler. When I tried to return it, the item is "not eligible for return". I have filed a complaint with Amazon. Terribly disappointed. 1Exactly what my costume needed.Worked great for my halloween costume. Technically sized for kids, but if you don't have a huge head, it'll fit you fine as an adult and it'll do in a pinch.EDIT: Someone asked how this fits a smaller adult. I wear a "7" hat size and this fits me like that. 5Great Product, Great Price!We ordered this for my son after the one he had previously cracked due to typical 3 year old roughhousing. I was a little leary about this one because we didn't want to spend a ton of money, but didn't want junk either. As I typically feel on Amazon, this was a gamble. But... he LOVES it! It is made with a thick plastic that will withstand a beating without being ridiculous. The size is adjustable which is a must have. My son immediately asked why it wasn't red, and when I told him that he'd been promoted to to Chief and that fire chiefs wear black helmets, it immediately was worth every penny. It even has a little hook on the back brim to hang it up - nice little touch. Overall, I highly recommend for all of the future firefighters out there - you can't go wrong with this one! 5Received a different version that shown and described in the listingThe firefighter helmet I received is not exactly what was shown in the listing; which is good and bad. On a positive note, the helmet I received includes a battery operated flashing red light to affix to the top of the helmet. When the power button (on the side of the light) is on, the light flashes and the unit makes a loud siren type noise - very loud. On a negative note, the helmet I received does not have an adjustable bad inside the helmet, as was shown in the product listing. Instead there are two pieces of soft foam, glued in place on either side of the inside of the helmet - not adjustable at all. Also there is no D-ring for hanging the helmet or attaching it to a firefight outfit, as was noted in the product listing. What I received will be fine for our purposes, but be aware the product may vary from what is shown and described. 4Looks kinda cheap...Thought this was the same helmet that my son adores, but recently broke. This was close, but the front is a gold colored sticker instead of the badge-looking shiny attachment that his previous hat had. He s 3, and he is happy with them though. Everything else seems exactly the same. They seem fairly durable. There s an adjustable strap on the inside for fitting it to their head. If you are going for something more authentic, this isn t it. But if you need something for a fireman obsessed 2-3 year old boy, then this is a winner! 3Good for a quick costume, fits adults fineGood enough for a quick halloween costume, but don't expect too much quality. The helmet is very plasticky, and doesn't feel like it would last too long with normal use. The yellow parts are just taped on (and sloppily too, mine had air bubbles). It's also closer to a lime green than yellow. Fit my adult head (around 7 1/4 hat size) just fine, which means I was able to get it to stay on my head throughout the night. A bit expensive for what you get, but I didn't see many other options. 4Great helmet for dress-upMy four year old loves Firehouse Subs, but is always sad one he inevitably breaks the cheap plastic fireman helmets they give out with the kids meals (which happens almost immediately). This helmet on the other hand looks great and has held up really well. It's sturdy and has some excellent features (adjustable inside strap, and attached d-ring for hanging it up). Very pleased! 5It has survived daily play with 3 brothers, ages 6, 5, and 3!It has been dropped, thrown, stepped on, run over, sat-on...and still looks GREAT! Nice details (orange tape and official gold sticker) and sturdy molded plastic have withstood 2 months of straight boys' play (abuse?). The adjustable inner band provides a comfortable and airy fit. Even has a neat metal hook so you can hang the hat. This Grandma is more than happy with this purchase and the price was very reasonable for the hours and hours of imaginative play. Be sure to buy more than one so that when a friend comes over to visit you won't have any 'sharing' issues. 5Great adjustabilityThis is a cute fireman s helmet that I bought for my toddler son s Halloween costume. I love how adjustable the hat is it was easy to find a good fit for his little head! It also seems to be well made and will be durable.My only complaint is that I ordered the red hat and the reflectors are a neon green instead of yellow. It s only a cosmetic complaint but the picture doesn t accurately reflect what we received. 4
