    Item stopped working before a yearMy daughter LOVED this Jupiter globe. The problem is it stopped rotating after about 15 months. It sits in our office on a desk so its not like it gets touched or moved much. For the cost it is super disappointing that it doest last very long. 3Cool desk trinket, a tad priceyI figured this would be a cool nerdy desk trinket for the office - I was right. It looks really great sitting on my desk, and I read the size, 4.5", and had a picture in my head of how big it would be, but when I received it I was surprised at how large it actually is. As some others have mentioned, this globe is just slightly too blue for Jupiter, but I understand why and it's something I can easily overlook.From just looking at pictures and things, I wasn't entirely sure about how it worked or if the surface was glossy or not. It's basically the same as a ship's compass floating in water, only this is entirely encompassed in a clear outer casing and a fluid (probably water). The outer shell is a shiny plastic so it appears glossy, unlike the product image which makes it appear to have a matte look. The reason the print on the inner globe is slightly blue is to allow ambient light to pass through the image so it can hit the inner electronics to get the rotation going. It's not a fast spin - I have an office with three large windows that quite a bit of light comes in through, and today it took about 25 seconds to do one complete rotation.It's a neat thing to have on your desk, but I think it's a little pricey for what it is. I can see the seam on the outer shell and the inner print, but it's not noticeable unless you inspect it closely (a foot or two form your face). I probably won't buy another at this price, but I would at sub-$100 prices. 4Awesome, smooth spinning every time I walk cross off ...Awesome , smooth spinning every time I walk cross off this planet I can't stop looking at it 5Spinning right after set up in a low kitchen light I am so happy with this-yes-up in price but sometimes, there are things priced steeper than expected but for unknown reason, this holds not a drop of concern from me-plus-shipped so fast..wow!! 5worked great. for 2 weeksif you are reading this and are new to the product, you should know that these are SOLAR powered. when i had originally open the package and exposed it to light it would start spinning immediately. i have had it in my office for 2 and a half weeks now, and it will make a quarter spin counter clock wise, then back clockwise about a half turn. it will do this for about an hour and a half, until it eventually stops. for a while i was able to expose it to a brighter light, and that seemed to jump start it, but now that doesnt even work. the reason i gave it 2 stars is because i hear they are pretty good about warranty-ing their items. so i will try that and update my review at a later date.UPDATE: i was able to send the item back for a full refund. i think i will refrain from buying another though. too spendy for something to go wrong with it shortly after receiving it, then having to go through the hassle of trying to return it. 2Great idea and the ones I have seen are really ...Great idea and the ones I have seen are really cool. This one had lost some of the liquid and had a big bubble in it. 2Fun & CoolFun to have. Exactly as pictured. No instructions needed. Just stick it on top of the base and watch it spin. I put it on my desk next to a window that gets indirect light. Without fail, every morning and during the day its spinning. Brighter it is the faster it spins. Dimmer, then slower it spins. It's just the coolest thing I own. Bit pricey, but a great treat to have. 5Very cool!This thing is really cool!! I don't see a seam in the photo as others have mentioned.
