Customer Reviews

Love the Game But a Different Version Than What I Was ExpectingI love this game but was disappointed that when I bought this version for my sister's family that it was not the same version that I own. The version I have uses all prime numbers as specialty cards which is cool in multiple ways and I was hoping to use it as a tool to teach them their prime numbers. 4Great game, poor qualityThe cards are thin and the printing is off. The tops of the cards are designed to go from lowest numbers on the left to highest numbers on the right, but since the printing is off they won't always line up properly. If the cards in your stack aren't all facing the same way (if the Racko is facing up or down) then they won't line up at all... even if they are all facing the same direction, some of the numbers are still off if they are within 2-3 number of each other. This has actually caused people to lose games because quickly looking at their hand it seemed as if all the numbers were in order.Still, it is a fun game whether you're playing with just two or all four and as long as you're careful you can deal with the card quality. I would gladly pay more money for a better quality card. 3Great Memories affirmed. Loved it then, love it more now.Same great game from my 70's childhood. Playing it right now with a 7,9,14 and 46 year old. All having fun. A c reviewer had said the cards were flimsy. I'm finding the exact opposite. The cards aRe stiff and substantial. Certainly not sure how they will hold yp, but so far, they are just fine. Worth every penny to not look at the back of a tablet or controller in children's hands. I'm a huge fan of board and card games. Brings out the best in my children and family. Even the older boy enjoys it, even if he has to act cool. These games challenge the mind in ways video games cannot. The interactive nature is priceless. Hope you enjoy as much as we are. 5What a fun!We thoroughly enjoy playing this game. I can say with certainty that an 8 year old and an 80 year old will like this game equally. The goal of the game is quite simple, yet the techniques and thoughts that go into achieving makes the game very interesting. A definite buy ! 5Great game but needs some modificationsThe game as is is fun for a while but the games drag on a bit.So my family developed some rule modifications that I recommend to make the game deeper and move a little faster.1. The 1 and 60 cards are wild cards and may be used as any number between 1 - 60.2. SWITCH powerup - once per 500 point match (not hand) you may switch any two cards in your rack instead of choosing a new card.3. STEAL - you may steal a discarded card when it is not your turn. However, you lose your next turn so it's best to do this when you need one more card.4. SUPER STEAL - Same as steal but you don't lose your next turn.5. SUPER SWITCH - Allows you to choose a card as normal and then after you discard you may switch any two cards. Very powerful, maybe only to be used during 4 player matches as these take longer than 3 person.6. ONE MORE - If you pull a card from the deck and you don't like it you can use this powerup to take one more card.Again, these powerups may only be used once per match so most hands will not involve powerups. Use them wisely... 5Family fun gameI always enjoyed this game as a child. My brother and I played all the time. I actually still owned my old one but a card was missing so I repurchased it to have for when my grandson visits. He picked it up very quickly and requests to play it often. We love it! Lots of fun to sit and hang with family. I highly recommend this game for everyone. 5Love this game!!!This game is one of my childhood favorites! It is incredibly simplistic, but amazingly fun. There isn't much too it - you are pretty much just trying to get all of your cards in number order, but it is still somehow just as fun as an adult as it was when I was a child. (There is a bit of strategy in deciding which cards to keep and which to discard as well as where to place them in your rack - so it's not totally a game of chance). This game is excellent for children that have a mastery of numbers (up to the #60) but are still developing their skills of greater than and less than. I would say that most children could start playing it by around age 8. My only reason for giving this 4/5 stars is that the cards are printed in a way so that the numbers are ever so slightly out of line in your rack if you have them "upside down" where in older versions of the game you could flip them either way and they would still line up. All in all, good family fun! 4Fun game to play, and easy to learnMy wife and I love playing this game.We constantly play card games (like Shanghai Rummy, Hand and Foot, Phase 10, Monopoly Deal, Hearts, Spades, Dominion, etc) and board games (like Ticket to Ride, Catan, Mysterium, Clue, Pandemic, etc). So we are very use to easy games and hard games. This game is an easy game to learn and play.My wife grew up playing this game, and so we bought it a while ago and enjoy playing it when we want a "no thinking required" card game. Rounds go quickly, but for us, the game doesn't get boring. 5Fantastic critical thinking game! Our kids love to play Rack-O. It's been great, especially for our youngest (a 7 year old) to think through number order and think ahead. I love that it encourages our children to think ahead. We played this with a friend, and knew it would be a perfect game. As a former teacher, I wish I had had this game in my classroom - it would be a great game for my students to play - from 1st grade (higher students) to 5th grade - all could enjoy! Adults enjoy this game as well. 5Never mind the kids, this is our adult game at "get togethers". Family funNever mind the kids, this is our adult game. It seems that every little "get together", this game is requested, young and old alike. That's because the young can "sometimes" beat the old. It gives plenty of "your kidding me" problems. Just relax and enjoy. Can't find it in local stores, so it seems that Amazon is the only place that sells it. Jam with the oldies music while playing. It is up to 4 player game but sometimes we put two sets together. 5
